Gal. 2:20 - I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (KJV) Many things have been written about this verse on CB and the Christian world. This translation is chosen for a very specific reason. I and we too often speak and think of Christ and the crucifixion in past tense. Something done two thousand years ago allowing us to now consider ourselves dead to sin and alive to righteousness. The Lord is very specifically making a point of this truth present tense. At this very moment, are we crucified in Christ whatever we are doing or encounter? Is my heart, thoughts, and life given completely to this notion … I am crucified......
An offering of thanks and praise

Gal. 5:22, 23 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (NASB) Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you so much for today for Your Spirit and Word. I write a simple thanks to You! Though others grow tired of hearing my woes … Thank you there were no anxiety attacks today! Thank you Lord Jesus. Praise Your Name! I sound like those thanking You for a day without drink. There has not been a day like this for two years. Only something, the Lord of all could do. Thanks and praise to Your Name! Giving rest to my soul, what wondrous grace! Speaking now of Your yoke easy and light. You are gracious to all who seek You. Lord, I ask the Spirit helps make this a day of remembrance.......
God's work and grace

Psa. 77:1, 2 - My voice rises to God, and I will cry aloud; My voice rises to God, and He will hear me. In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; In the night my hand was stretched out without weariness; My soul refused to be comforted. (NASB) In times of great trial and suffering, simple choices confront. Focus on the mountain of trouble or choose God's direction. Five simple but difficult actions to take through His Spirit: Recall the wonders of His work. (Psa. 77:11, 12) Stand on the promise of God's written and living Word Christ Jesus (Psa. 119:5) Never forget He is always with us. Even in the roaring furnace. (Duet. 31:6, Isa. 41:10) The Lord guarantees He will comfort all coming to Him who grieve. (Matt. 5:4) Ask His Spirit to strengthen to consider current suffering......
Overwhelming grief, overcoming grace (lamentations 3)

Lam. 3:1, 2, 4, 8, 11 - I am the man who has seen affliction … He has driven me and made me walk In darkness and not in light … He has caused my flesh and my skin to waste away … … Even when I cry out and call for help, He shuts out my prayer … He has turned aside my ways and torn me to pieces; He has made me desolate. Jeremiah, writing of the Holy Spirit most certainly was lamenting, or "crying out" to make sense of suffering shared and endured from Israel's Babylonian captivity. God allows him and the chosen people to become desolate. Even petition and prayers are closed. (Lam. 3:8, 10) Certainly, the sins of the generations are being visited upon all of Israel. Why does Jeremiah and those who remain faithful to the Lord walk crooked and......
Our daily bread

Matt. 6:11 - "Give us today our daily bread." Christ teaching the 'Lord's Prayer,' this verse is truly foreign unless growing up destitute, homeless, or in a developing country. Living in uncertainty of food present for the day's sustenance. This reality existed in the crowd spoken too in 1st century Israel. Food, shelter, and clothing are basic needs in life. No health, wealth, and prosperity teaching if only possessing enough faith. Not facing the daily reality of lack of food, judging the five thousand becomes rather easy. Only to follow Jesus for satisfaction of physical huger. (John 5, 6) What is wrong wanting Jesus to meet the basic needs to exist? Christ’s focus is on the eternal and spiritual obtained only partaking of His body and blood …......
A deceitful heart, signs and wonders

Jer. 17: 9 - The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? Over the past two weeks, the Lord revealed several issues of heart. Very uncomfortable but believed for sharing as the Holy Spirit deems fit. The issue addressed here has been written on more than once but still pondering … miraculous healing. God still performs this today. Questions posed to my heart, cut to the quick. 'Over the decades, when you prayed for healing how often did you say it was sought for My glory? Did you pray, Father please heal this area but mostly Lord, Your will be done and glory come on heaven and earth?' Quickly, thinking of prayers of salvation where the only motive is to avoid eternity in the lake of fire. The Spirit addressed. The motive of this prayer may......

2 Cor. 2:16 - … For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; And I will be their God, and they shall be My people." Reflecting on our bodies as God's temple, a question continues to arise. How do we approach temples broken in body and mind … some since birth or childhood? Recalling the many thoughts spoken, taught, and said over the years; there seemed no more appropriate conclusion than the title of this blog. If looking for a scripture verse the following seems appropriate: Prov. 21:2 - Every man’s way (or belief's are - mine) is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts. Most believers when encountering troubles in another person's life want to have an answer or 'the......
Being found in him
published . 1 min read
Phil. 3:9 - and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ--the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. The Lord moved my heart to look at what are the benefits of being 'found in Christ.' The concept speaks directly to our union or oneness with God in Him. This list is lengthy, so I will provide a few which particularly stood out. Being found in Christ provides: Righteousness based on empowerment through the Holy Spirit. (Rom. 13:14) Restored to a right relationship with God and enmity removed. (Col. 1:21) Adopted as sons and daughters of the Most High. (2 Cor. 6:18) Possess eternal life in Christ. (John 11:25, 26, Rom. 6:23) A royal priesthood in our High Priest. (I Peter 2:9)......
The performing of miracles
published . 3 min read
John 11:41, 42 - “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.” Reading the miraculous accounts in John Chapters 5, 9, and 11 you definitely see Christ loved people. At the pool of Bethesda, the man was asked if he wanted to be made well. He answered with an excuse, yet Christ healed anyway. At the pool of Siloam the man born blind did not even ask to be healed and Jesus restored sight without a 'willful' request of faith. Finally, scripture indicates Mary and Martha sent for Jesus. Christ restored physical life without a direct appeal from Lazarus. Jesus definitely loved tremendously and with great compassion while performing miracles in......

John 16:23 – “In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.” This verse is a favorite of many and one often misunderstood by just as many. Asking God in prayer for something in Christ’s Name is much more than tacking on “In Jesus Name” at the end of a prayer. How often have I invoked in His name, blood, work, power, and authority to not have the request granted? Too many too count. Why? The simple answer … asking in Jesus Name requires the request be God’s will, bringing glory to the Father and His Kingdom. John 14:3 – ‘And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” Well suppose this blog is completed,......

Jer. 29:10, 11 - “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise … For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Considering "victorious Christian living," what is actually meant? Too often mine and others' thinking is of the woman with issue of blood, healed by Jesus touching the hem of His garment. Also receiving financial restoration and no longer considered an outcast in the community. Is this what scripture says? Are her remaining days now free from reoccurrence of the condition? All pain, loss, and suffering? When experiencing miraculous events in life focus is placed on faith or lack thereof. Also,......
Called to humility

Micah 6:8 - He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God (NIV) Throughout this past week, God placed heavily on heart His requirement of humility. As @KReynolds wrote in The Mind of Christ, my heart is distressed seeing many believers acting like the world. Witness to Christ and His Kingdom is forfeited through words and actions. Many prophesies surround the new administration leading a worldwide reformation of God. Will He work through people whose words and actions leave others feeling trampled and searching for grace? Some suggest leaving the country if not in agreement with new policy. Christ said His Kingdom is not of this world. The adoring crowds on Palm Sunday turned one week......

Soul wracked with pain and heartache, Spirit revives with living water, rising to new life! Though darkness abounds, You lead by the Light of Life bringing glory to Your name. Darkness surrounds, 'why is no one advocating or petitioning for me?' Casting all fear when answered , 'I am here ... protecting you.' Nothing more needs saying. Enemy rejoicing over trials and suffering, The High Priest makes preparation, pleading on my behalf! Spirit anoints with love overflowing. I will never forget The Lord's restoration and rescue, Saving while on earth;......
Freed to love

John 8:36 - So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (NIV) The Lord declares freedom to captives for what purpose? Definitely to free from sin and it's just consequences. Why? Scripture offers a simple and profound explanation; empowering us to love God and others. Christ sacrificed Himself for sin to free for loving relationships and love as He. Appearing very straightforward, this is often lost in the chase of other godly attributes. The importance of love to God can never be diminished. Considered greatest of all by Him Who is Love. (I Cor. 13:13, I John 4:8) Seeking holiness, righteous, or faithfulness is truly a pursuit of deeper love. Every effort to grow in godliness must bring a greater outpouring of God's love. Gal. 5:13, 14 - ... But do not use your freedom......

Thanks Move God's Heart and Hands Eph. 5:20 - always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (NIV) The 2016 celebration of Christ's birth and New Year of 2017, the Lord impressed with great emphasis the need to give thanks each day, throughout the day for Who He is, all done and His great love in Christ. Calling to remembrance 'small' everts of life having special significance over fifty years ago. In so doing, seeing Him present in all circumstances. Tender memories flooding view. God blessing, caring, and touching my life through people He placed. Christ and the Spirit's protection while wooing to a relationship with The Father. Guiding through valleys of the shadow death; even keeping and holding today in everything. God......

Wind, waves, and storm approaching with panic ensuing. How could the Lord sleep now? Does He not know or care I am about to sink? Heb. 4:13 - Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him ... (NIV) When Christ woke and calmed the storm. He then asks why such small faith? This rebuke seems not of anger but disappointment. Christ lived daily with them seeing His life and all done; why was trust......

Isa 53:4 - Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! (NLT) The words in the title were spoken with tears and groaning driving home two weeks ago. Pain physically and emotionally from a protracted medical process change left me at 'wits end.' The last change brought many weeks of distress. The thirty minute commute provided opportunity of verbally crying out from the turmoil and despair. It was too much to bear. Where was hope? The Spirit answered directing me to read Isaiah 53. This was puzzling since I knew chapter's content and passage. How did it relate to my suffering? Arriving home, I grabbed the nearest bible. My usual preference is NASB, NIV, or......

Consciously place heart and mind in hope of God our Savior! Waves crashing down upon me covering, sweeping over, and washing under. Forget not the Lord God as hope and salvation. Through His word in Psalm 42, no guarantee exists all becoming 'right' in this temporal life. Many say, 'Look at the condition of his life. Where is the God he calls too? Why is this God not rescuing and allowing a life of ruin?' No! I will remember Your loving kindness placed on my life All days.......

(NASB) Today marked a time of sharp rebuked from the Lord for not writing on this Psalm last night. He directed so and my choice was a "break" to watch a show. Excuses went; 'People seem so selective in reading, commenting, or liking blogs. Some no longer reply to mails, accept friend requests, and exclude. For days the passage from verse 18 to 25 opened my heart to penetrating questions of the Spirit. First examining the original Greek word, "hate" most clear meaning is to detest. Now questioned, does anyone come to mind detesting me? Not from being "preachy," taking loud outspoken positions on bathrooms, non-biblical unions, or lifestyles contrary to correct scriptural teaching. Instead like Jesus, crossing the sea to Gadarenes for one purpose. In love, purity, and to further His Father's Kingdom, Christ freed a captive from demons. (NASB) Watching a movie on Mother Teresa based on fifty years of private letters written to her priest and spiritual advisor proved eye opening. As head of the Missionaries of Charity, she expressed a deep sense of emptiness, loneliness, and even abandonment by the Lord. To the length of saying there was "no God inside her." However, she never stopped her tireless work showing Christ to the "unwanted, unloved, abandoned and spurned" of society. Mother requested the letters destruction upon death so focus remained on God alone. Considering her for sainthood the church reviewed them instead. Experiencing tremendous......

When we battle in earthly terms screams, explosions, gunfire, etc. become so loud, hearing the Spirit's still small voice is often drowned out. Combat included prayers in the spirit, pleading the blood of Jesus, and binding spirits in Christ name. She accepted Christ at age 12 in 1921, serving Him unwaveringly for 87 years. Though having her share of heartbreak, grief, and suffering the trust in her loving Father never ceased. Her life spoke mightily of the God living in her. The particularly disturbing fact when asking for more detail is learning they neither stated this specifically, nor a job or other significant item proved the impetus for change. The main weapon becomes only an enormous roar used to ward off younger males seeking control of the pride. In a male lions' younger years, stealth is primary for surprise of prey. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising." (NASB) My first thoughts were of the two words which start the passage. Investigating the word arise, the Lord is saying to stand. Why? The closing section of scripture in Isaiah 59, God sends a Redeemer like a rushing stream and wind. Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' and behold, the log is in your own eye?" (NASB) Over the past month, overlapping situations involving strife gave rise of considering an objective third party to resolve. Fleshly sin and violation of boundaries occurred, though I was the less affected party. The most impacted individual, when informed of course considered demonstrated the greatest maturity. Saying to allow the Lord to work to the completion He wishes as larger concerns exist. I knew immediately this to be true. Conversation finished, the Holy Spirit began dealing with my heart. (NASB) Reading @watchmanjohn John Knox wall post; I could not agree more of listening to a good expository sermon. Many desire relevance presenting a "watered down" message absent God's word, good only as motivational or entertaining speakers. As we preach truths from God's word, what is the greatest witness Christ lives? My answer - our walk in the Spirit allowing God's love in Christ poured out too others. There is no recollection of the message but the introductory family story got everyone's attention. His grandfather farmed in Georgia during the depression and WWII, using a mule for plowing fields to plant crops. About 2/3rd's from completing an area, the mule stopped. The past three weeks consisted of significant struggles mentally, physically, and relationally. Knowing others in the CB family were facing grave circumstances and crushing grief. With good intentions, I continued making adjustments to medication and in prayer alone. My concern was not "bothering" others facing extreme difficulty and grief or sounding like a "broken" record (if you remember the "old" 45 and 33 RPM's with a scratch :). After nearly three weeks, tears in eyes and deep groans of pain an S.O.S. signal was sent. Two or three now alerted with Christ in the midst working in manner restricted remaining "solo". Each springing to action as God now worked through them. In one day spiritual, emotional, and physical relief began. The next......

The pool of Shalom, empty tomb, and spot believed Golgotha. Two large trees that date before Christ's birth; a giant sycamore tree in the village of Zacchaeus and a sprawling olive tree in the garden of Gethsemane. Though none are verifiable as the exact ones from scripture; great insight of the roads walked by the Lord. From beneath the olive tree of 'weeping' in Gethsemane, on a hill slightly over a mile away sits the residence of the High Priest. Jesus was not hiding and easy to find. The Father provided time for the Son to complete His prayers. "Not my will but Thine be done".......

Then months or years pass with the other person placing at arm's length. No wrongs committed or communicated but only superficial dealings. Deut. 31:6 - "Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. Releasing into God's hands others where relationships began warm and inviting, even continuing for a time. Now without rhyme, reason, or conversation is replaced with silence or an apparent lack of concern. Praying to release the situation into God's hands and not desiring a grudge or jading to occur. Still wrestling in some current instances, the Lord directed a study of verses and passages containing 'forsake'. This quickly morphed to include......

Reticence lay in feeling the blog kooky and boring. All have heard before and know the Holy Spirit unlocks new truths regardless of acquaintance of scripture if hearts remain open. The same is true of straying into error from God's revealed word. Staying balanced without allowing a running away "in the Spirit". After clicking on publish, God grabbed my heart for major housekeeping: First showing time to obedience on a topic considered unexciting but commanded. The significant degree of comfort desired in life. A want or lack of discipline in heart. The Holy Spirit took one verse and......

The current ability to measure wavelength in the electro-magnetic spectrum ranges from pico-meters (trillionth of a meter) for gamma radiation to kilometers with radio waves. The human range or ability to "see" is miniscule with the visible spectrum of light from 390 to 780 nanometers or around 400 billionths of a meter. Small compared to one conceptualizing to infinity. Grief, anxiety, happiness was felt in the intestines. Thus, "knotting up" or unwinding as feelings dictated a physiological response. The second most common meaning of compassion transliterated in Greek (Splagchnizomai) meant pity or today as most often referred to as "feeling sorry" for another. A conclusion reached, while on earth all are in some area of 'recovery.' If not, why remain on earth? Attaining perfection, off to heaven we go. The other possibility is you are an alien. None go through life unscathed, without 'nicks' developing sin responses. Christ came to set us as captives free from sin and bondage. Luke 4:18 - “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed” (NASB) As Jesus spoke of the fulfillment of this passage (Isa. 61), we see Christ our Lord desiring to complete the good work begun until beholding Him. (Phil. 1: 6) Always looking for a way to exploit areas of sin......

For you or me if we were the only person in all history to accept Christ as the Lamb of God's sacrifice for sin on Calvary. Yes, God's love so great and boundless beyond comprehension if none accepted Him as Lord and Savior, Christ still dies to give opportunity. This is certainly no warm or fuzzy love. One enduring scrounging as no man, sin of all becoming so grotesque though perfect blood's given to cleanse, He endured the Father's rejection......

I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” My heart contains a greater excitement of attending the Recovery Group at our fellowship than regular services. Why, no pretense or facades exist, 'all is well.' 'Regular' services include the customary, 'How are you doing?' You reply, 'Fine how are you?' In 2012, it was estimated 43,000 Christian denominations exist worldwide. With Christ calling for a universal body united in Him, why so? Though unconscious, it necessitated Godly sorrow and change of heart. In denial my love serves to ignite others love in return. When recalling the sin of adultery with Bathsheba. We quickly think of Psalm 51 and David being a man “after God's own heart.” Viewing more closely, a large portion of his life was filled with calamity and flight from enemies (some unjustly as Saul). Immorality and the arranged murder of Bathsheba husband required God to finally proclaim David's hands spilled too much blood (II Sam. 16:8). The sword and strife engulfed his household (II Sam 12:10). The temple built for God's presence to dwell, now would fall to a descendant (Solomon). Thinking to myself, 'Lord what a silly question. He's been lame for 38 years; of course he wants to walk!' Notice the man's reply in verse 7, he offers an excuse rather than yes. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED, TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD.” (NASB) When the word 'recovery' is mentioned, most immediately think of drugs, alcohol, sexual sin, gambling, etc. The item people do not want to consider, they are in recovery whether admitted or not while on earth. Matt 22:39 "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (NASB) Pondering several scriptures this week, what is the meaning of loving my neighbor as myself? As I look, it appears we do not love ourselves or our neighbor's much. Am I patient and kind to others? Does jealousy exist when another excels more in an area extremely important than I? Are subtle comments dropped to draw attention to great prowess in a particular sphere? If hurt, do I treat the another rudely or extend grace? Am I provoked easily or allow the love of God to look past the incident, seeing all as perfecting for His Kingdom? Do I debate what is right and true or live in a way showing joy when these occur? Do I willing 'put up' with a situation or walk away? Considering it 'too much' and say......

I break radio silence due to your love, patience, and care. All I can say is thank you. Several went to unimaginable lengths reaching out, melting my heart and bringing tears. Researching adverse reactions to medications my doctor prescribed in July and again this past month brought much understanding. The biggest concerns differed with each. Doctors are required to highlight potential severe and even fatal reactions. The US Food and Drug Administration require reporting of potential hazardous or fatal consequences of prescription medication for patient awareness. Doctors highlight out of concern and insurance companies required to protect against medical malpractice lawsuits. The patient is left sifting through pharmacology inserts on less serious effects. She was ready to put me there yesterday. I told her I know the drill if done. After 72 hours, unless you are a threat to yourself or someone else, you are released. It is easy enough to talk your way out, just say 'I'm good now.' Only in certain parts of the world with human trafficking, women still property, etc. does the distinct understandings exist. Considering the topic before God, He led me to this passage. I Peter 4:17 “For it is time for judgment to begin with God's household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?” I've been pondering several items from my five weeks of “troubles” and responses via personal mails and blog comments. In my musings, the words from a Veggie Tales song based on the parable of the “Good Samaritan” continued to run through my mind. “I'm busy, busy, dreadfully busy ... much much too busy for you.” Being one who battles major depression on a daily basis along with a social anxiety disorder accompanied with agoraphobia, the responses were “priceless.” They were duplicate and from multiple sources. The duplicity was the part which would be humorous......

I really intended not to hurt her and in my my desire to not be abrasive or terse; I realize my attempts at being "subtle" did. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. I have heard this phrase many times in life. Most often used by Believers of ones who left their gathering and though sometimes true most often need to rationalize others leaving. I like to put a song with what I write. Not only to accompany, complement, or underscore what is penned. Often the song “speaks” more to a person than a thousand written words. Suppose my Mom majoring in music during college and teaching piano for forty years played a big role in my love of music. I set aside a song for about a month and a half, waiting for a “profound” message to write and close with it. Every morning I wake and breath is a miracle. Rain falling on the righteous and unrighteous too. God's love and patience towards those who rage against and curse His name are still given a miracle. His tender mercy, love, and grace ... For we are not consumed. (Matt. 5:45, Lam. 3: 22, 23) Though I might need some “miraculous” intervention in this......

In my life, God through Christ truly has covered me with His hand. Lead me in any paths of righteousness if I have walked as such. I have looked and run to Him as my refuge. I'm off the road and it's safe to drive again (thanks K, for letting everyone know ... I'll be back!). I spent 1400 miles and three days before the Lord. Things 'said' while responding to your comments on God's covering blog were on my heart. The Spirit grabbed and hasn't let go, so I'll 'speak.' I wrote, “He sustains me, holds me, (serves) provides for me, etc.!” I casually was trying to find a synonymous semantic (say that really fast fifteen times!) before the word provide. God caught me totally off guard as I was closing; “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Heb. 13:8 NASB) So the big deal? Christ is referred too as the suffering servant in past tense. What He did for us on the cross is stated in past......
His love is so tender he makes you completely new right now

One of my favorite Old Testament passages is Ezekiel 36. The beauty of Gods words are seen better in the context of the historical setting. Ezekiel is called by the Lord to speak to a “stubborn” people whether they listen or not. They'll know a “Prophet has been among them.” (Ezek. 2) He spends five years dealing with the fate of the Israelites and then seven prophesying the pending judgment. In Ezekiel 5:5 7, God tells Israel He set them in the midst of nations but they've become worse than those around them. Finally, God in His grace uses Babylon and Nebuchadnezzar to “bring the hammer” down with captivity and exile for 70 years. Why use grace, with this statement? My understanding, God endured their chosen disobedience over 70 Sabbath years (a......
God's incomprehensible love has us covered

The covering of The Lord's been on my heart. I don't believe it's a coincidence several writings have addressed this topic. I looked more at God's covering and here were some areas impressed on me (sure many more): Sin (Psa. 32, Psa. 85) Shame (Psa. 34) Shield and Protection (Psa. 18 & 28) Safety (Psa. 27 & 91) Salvation (Psa. 22, Isa. 61) God goes to great lengths, to cover my sin and shame. Then provide safety, shielding (protection) and salvation through the power of His might. His Love never continues to amaze. This should be plenty but God does not stop. He sustains me, holds me, (serves) provides for me, etc.! The list goes on and on and on. So how am I to respond to such amazing Love? His answer, be clothed! Here are some items I'm to 'wear'......
People give up on people, god doesn't give up on people!

I never cared for testimonies where people speak at length of the depth of drugs, sexual sin, etc... they were bound. Then end by stating how God rescued. Seems more 'air time' is given glorifying the enemy, than the Savior and His redeeming love. Additionally, I really, really don't want to write this because it is 'raw' and hard. It makes me 'look bad.' After three days using the excuse not to 'dredge up' the past, the Spirit still presses. I'm a bleach blonde, like Johan after the time in the fish digestive juices. I do want to tell the unbelievable extent to which God's love and grace goes for one person, even me if you will bear. Empirical research consistently shows a high percentage who suffer from major mental illnesses (regardless of......
Efficacy in blogging?
published . 3 min read
As I've considered this question the past couple of weeks, my answer was yes and no. Yes if I (no particular order): Edify in Christ, allowing God to minister to those He desires and me a vessel. (Rom 14: 17 19) Spend time praying and searching the Word for the Spirit to address me. (John 14: 15 21) Don't 'talk' a lot (making it about me), rather let Christ speak so others hear something of value. (John 3:27 36) Magnify and glorify God by declaring the present and coming Kingdom forever in Jesus. (Jude 20 25; Rev. 11:15) No centered on two things: Few if any non-believers will read my “Christian” blog; they'll not see a life so will it amount to anything? Most bloggers are other Christians more learned or mature, so who am I to “preaching to the......
God is looking for relationship, not sin
published . 3 min read
I want to look at people and actions as Jesus, using the familiar story of the woman caught in adultery. John 8: 3-5: The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?" (NIV) The Pharisees wanted to trap Jesus. They got a “tip” of a man and women in an adulterous relationship and caught them in “the act.” Several things stand out as I read these verses: Men went looking for sin. Not God! In this case, looking to justify as better than those caught on the sin 'Top 10 List.' A patriarchal society, in the act the man was let go. A favor, he......
Welcome to the club

Two or three weeks ago, my 18 year old daughter came into the office to talk. Her concern, 'where she was with God.' She told me, “I'm say and doing things I know I shouldn't and not sure I am OK to talk to God.” I didn't have to take more than one second to respond and say, “Welcome to the club.” Her reply, “I you don't think understand, I've used words not as bad as others but (our human measurement scale)... ” I stopped her right there and said, “Do you think I haven't thought the exact same words or worse during this week, even as I try and walk daily with Jesus?” I reminded her, if I've thought it, I've done it. (Matt. 5:27 28) I know without Kingdom minded thoughts, I'm in a horrible place. Also,......
Light thoughts from les

A few thoughts in no particular order which might bring a bit of levity (I could use it since my last subject lovingly took me to the “woodshed” a few times :-) Said to my kids, “If Jesus was speaking on the mount today; it wouldn't be called the Sermon on the Mount, it would be the Text or Tweet on the Mount since we don't really talk to each other anymore.” Saw my 11 year old deeply into his electronic game and commented; “It looks like the relationship with your video game is going well!” (He frowned but played on!) Wish I could figure out how to put photo pictures into blog posts and the front cover. Even if they don't have anything to say, they'll look better! When choosing style versus substance or quality versus quantity, “Always......
"high maintenance christians," reality, and what to do?
published . 4 min read
PREFACE What you read is 180 degrees turned “upside down” to the original outline. The Holy Spirit took an “opening” to convict and place light on my heart. As a “High Maintenance Christian” (+40 years of chronic disorders and pain), I intented to'graciously' prepare a framework of how 'you' could show more love to me. God thought otherwise, firmly delivering a message. I wanted “His job” (convict John 16:8) and not mine (love regardless of the weight with which I live I Cor. 13:7; I Cor. 16:13, 14). “High Maintenance Christians,” Reality, and What to Do? I've drafted and redrafted on this subject multiple times the past week. The “starts and stops” have been from constraints of the Holy Spirit. I say,......
The length to which god goes to show his great love!

A few thoughts from my time the other night reading and praying with my 11 year old son Benjamin. He chose to read from Acts 8:26 40. Why, because that's were he opened the bible!. God sends an angel to Phillip telling him to go to a road. There he meets a God fearing Ethiopian eunuch, returning from worship in Jerusalem. The Spirit had Phillip join him. Phillip ran up and asked if he understood what he was reading. The man answered and said, “Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?” The eunuch invited Phillip on to the chariot where they read from read from Isa. 53. Phillip answered his question about whom the passage referred too. Then Phillip began to proclaim Jesus. The man saw a river and said asked to be baptized. He believed and received the gospel just heard.......
You are of great value!

A quick look at the details of our lives and how God takes interest is amazing. What great love! Consider these two passages: Matt. 10: 29 - “Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” (NASB) Luke 12: 6 - "Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. "Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.” (NASB) In Matthew, for sacrifice of sins, men sold two sparrows for one cent. In Luke, you can go to other vendors to buy five sparrows for two cents. As people, we toss in an extra sparrow for a cent. No big deal, a volume discount while we still......

Matt. 25: 31 40 "But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. "All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left. “Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 'For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.' "Then the righteous will......
Quit using the quotes of gandhi
published . 2 min read
“I like your Christ; I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” Mahatma Gandhi. This quote and another ascribed to him “I would be a Christian, if it were not for Christians” purportedly after being turned away from a church door in Calcutta (not British or of high enough cast) had read the gospels and wanted to learn more of this Messiah named Jesus. He never attempted to return to a “church” building. I read these quotes should stop being used as an attempt to get Christians to “do more or be better” . The apologist suggested Gandhi had done two things: Misunderstood Christ and constructed a Jesus of his own making (i.e. - not of the scriptures) Though considering himself similar to a leper or Samaritan, was truly......
Christians, mental illness and job description (conclusion)
published . 2 min read
Finally, I'm concluding Christians, Mental Illness, and Job Description! I suggested three things which Disciples of Christ are called in a “Job Description” : 1.) Love God with all our being 2.) Love our neighbor as ourselves 3.) Love one another as Jesus loved us so the world knows were His disciples. (Matt. 22: 37-39, John 13:34 -35) A question arose. Where is the Great Commission (Matt. 28: 19 20; go and make disciples of all nations ... teaching them to observe all I commanded you)? God's not afraid of my questions and answered. I can go into all nations but will never make a true disciple of Christ. Only the Holy Spirit through the resurrected power of Jesus, can make true disciples using a life yielded to God. I'd make religious converts looking like me, not......

(Note: Many of you've read this blog and may not want too again but I hope you listen to the song added. When first written, I didn't know how to import songs, this is a favorite many years andseems to be a recurring thread in many writings the past weeks. Hope it ministers to you as much as it has me.) Reading your comments on "Christians, Mental Illness and Job Description", you brought tears to my eyes. Paul considered his sufferings” light afflictions” while beaten and shipwrecked three times, also stoned and left for dead (II Cor. 4, II Cor. 11). I read of great trials and suffering many of you are living with or have been through. I thought why (did) do I complain so quickly and much? Easy, I don't want God to reveal my selfishness and wicked heart.......
