A message from the past
published . 1 min read
A MESSAGE FROM THE PAST Today I came across a message I had written down early in 2011. Before I even knew I would be battling cancer. However at that time I had been battling chronic lung disease since December of 2004. I remember the day I wrote this down, I was feeling very tired and sick and depressed. I had cried out to the Lord asking Him to heal me. As I re-read this today I thought it just might be worth sharing with all of you here at CB. So many people are hurting and in need of many different healings. This is the message I received wrote down that day. I am your God and I am your healer. I am healing you from the inside out. I ask "Why in that order? Here is the answer I received. The Spirit first needs healed so the mind can heal. When the Spirit and mind are healed the......
Daily bible verse: 1 corinthians 13:12
published . 1 min read
As I read this verse it brought back memories of a blog I wrote some time ago called “He ain’t heavy He’s my brother.” There are times in life we simply don’t understand the “why” of God’s plans. This was only one time in my life that I neither understood nor accepted there just was not an answer. It took along time for me to come to terms with the fact that there are times there is no understandable reason and I would have to just let it go and trust God. This verse gave me hope and understanding that someday I would know the reason and the why. After many years of tormententing myself becoming bitter and being angry with God. I finally found peace and acceptance in just knowing I did not need to have an answer to my why’s or a reason......
A prayer from 10years ago

This is an article written by Darrell Scott 10 years ago. Due to the contrversity over the recent shootings at Newtown, CT. I thought it an appropriate post. COLUMBINE STUDENT'S FATHER 12 YEARS LATER ! Guess our national leaders didn't expect this. On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado, was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful. They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words......
True greatness and simple miricales
published . 3 min read
A few days ago I read a sweet blog K wrote on What is Greatness. Today I ran across this Old Story - I'm sure many of you have read it before, But today I'm gonna share it with you again just as a reminder. TRUE GREATNESS AND SIMPLE MIRACLES I was at the corner grocery store buying some early potatoes. I noticed a small boy, delicate of bone and feature, ragged but clean, hungrily apprising a basket of freshly picked green peas. I paid for my potatoes but was also drawn to the display of fresh green peas. I am a pushover for creamed peas and new potatoes... Pondering the peas, I couldn't help overhearing the conversation between Mr. Miller (the store owner) and the ragged boy next to me. Hello Barry, how are you today?' H'lo, Mr. Miller. Fine, thank ya. Jus'......
Manufacturers recall

I put this under "humor" because it made me smile -- Hope it makes you smile too. RECALL NOTICE: The Maker of all human beings (GOD) is recalling all units manufactured, regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart. This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units. This defect has been technically termed "Sub-sequential Internal Non-Morality," or more commonly known as S.I.N., as it is primarily expressed. Some of the symptoms include: 1. Loss of direction 2. Foul vocal emissions 3. Amnesia of origin 4. Lack of peace and joy 5. Selfish or violent behavior 6. Depression or confusion in the mental component......
Jesus loves me

Though my hair is white and my body racked with pain My Lord loves me just the same! "Senior version of Jesus Loves Me" Here is a new version just for us who have white hair or no hair at all. For us over middle age (or even those almost there) and all you others, check out this newest version of Jesus Loves Me. JESUS LOVES ME Jesus loves me, this I know, Though my hair is white as snow Though my sight is growing dim, Still He bids me trust in Him. (CHORUS) YES, JESUS LOVES ME.. YES, JESUS LOVES ME.. YES, JESUS LOVES ME, FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO. Though my steps are oh, so slow, With my hand in His I'll go On through life, let come what may, He'll be there to lead the way. (CHORUS) When the nights are dark and long, In my heart He puts a song.. Telling me in words so......
"my name is i am"
published . 1 min read
My Name Is I AM I was regretting my past and fearing my future. Suddenly my Lord was speaking: "My Name Is I Am" He paused. I waited. He continued, "When you live in the past with its mistakes and regrets, it is hard. I am not there. My name is not I WAS. When you live in the future with its problems and fears, its hard. I am not there. My name is not I WILL BE. When you live in this moment it is not hard. I am here. My Name is I AM. "and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen" Matthew 28:20 KJV And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and He said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. Exodus 3:14 I did not write this beautiful little piece above, but it is certainly worth sharing and giving thought......
What do you see lord
published . 1 min read
What do you see Lord? As I was reading yesterday, I came across Gracie's blog about taking a good long hard look in the mirror. My reaction was, No Thanks. I know what I see in the mirror and it isn't pretty. But I went and looked anyway. It's a good thing hubby was gone shopping or he would have called those guys with the white coats for sure. And this is what I saw. A tired fat old woman, whose hair has turned white and who's beauty left years ago. I see the lines of years of rejection and loneliness. The pain of loves and loved ones lost for reasons never understood. I see the toll of the years of abuse to my body. I see the pain I've caused my children and family. I see the bitterness that grew from these things. I ask the Lord, What is it you see Lord? What do you......
The letter
published . 2 min read
Today I came across a letter I wrote to my children nearly 30years ago. I'm not a person that's good with words and I wrote this so they would know how important each one of them was to me, and how their walk with God affected my life as well. I thought I would share this with you just as a reminder that our children need to know they bless us and we love them. This is so important in today's reckless uncaring world. My children have grown and their roles have changed as have mine. Not all of them now walk with God as they did when they were young -but I will keep praying for their return. "Train up a child in the way they should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." - Proverbs 22:6 "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shall be saved and......
Three bullets

I received this from a friend and thought it worth sharing. If I new how to do one of those little survey things I'd add one. Since I don't I'll just let you all decide -Which would you have done -be honest you don't have to tell anyone else Three Bullets There once was a man who had nothing for his family to eat. He had an old rifle and three bullets. So, he decided that he would go out hunting and kill some wild game for dinner. As he went down the road, he saw a rabbit. He shot at the rabbit and missed it. The rabbit ran away. Then he saw a squirrel and fired a shot at the squirrel and missed it. The squirrel disappeared into a hole in a cottonwood tree. As he went further, he saw a large wild 'Tom' turkey in the tree, but he had only one bullet remaining. A......
Drinking from my saucer

Drinking from my saucer How often do we forget to be thankful for the simple thing in life: For the Freedom we were born into in this USA of ours, The fact that we woke up this morning, That we could reach and pull the covers over our head, That we could see the sun shining or the gray clouds looming, That we could hear the train whistling at six in the morning, That we could smell the coffee brewing and taste the delightful flavor of it, For the roof over our head and the food on our table no matter how meager or abundant, Oh Lord forgive us for forgetting to Praise you for the "Simple things" we so take for granted, Remind us these too are apart of your Love for us, the gifts you have blessed us with. Let us remember, We are drinking from our saucer cause our cup is......
The carpenters glasses
published . 2 min read
I received this as an e-mail today -one of those that has been forwarded all over the world. I thought it well worth sharing with all of you as it contains a wonderful lesson and the awesome way our Father meets needs. My Dad, who has been gone nearly 6years now, was a Carpenter and lived through the "Great Depression". We were never rich and everything new had to be accessed as to it's need before it was bought. He also wore glasses and if they got broke or needed repair it was a hardship on the budget. THE CARPENTERS GLASSES My mother's father worked as a carpenter. On this particular day, he was building some crates for the clothes his church was sending to orphanages in China. On his way home, he reached into his shirt pocket to find his glasses, but they were gone......
A daily reminder

A DAILY REMINDER (this might be a good one to post on the bathroom mirror!) 1. Wake Up ! Decide to have a good day. "Today is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it"... "Psalms 118:24" 2. Dress Up ! The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance; but the Lord looks at the heart."..."I Samuel 16:7" 3. Shut Up! Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. "He who guards his lips guards his soul." Proverbs 13:3 4. Stand Up!... For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will......

This was sent to me by a friend -thought it worth sharing -if nothing else it will make you think. This is very interesting and not the ending I had expected! A few years after I was born, my Dad met a stranger who was new to our small Texas town. From the beginning, Dad was fascinated with this enchanting newcomer and soon invited him to live with our family. The stranger was quickly accepted and was around from then on. As I grew up, I never questioned his place in my family. In my young mind, he had a special niche. My parents were complementary instructors: Mom taught me good from evil, and Dad taught me to obey. But the stranger...he was our storyteller. He would keep us spellbound for hours on end with his Adventures, mysteries and comedies. If I wanted to know anything about......

HE AINT HEAVY HE'S MY BROTHER It's four in the morning and I haven't slept at all. God has impressed upon my heart to tell this story. But before I start I need to tell you a little about me and my brother Deryl. We are eleven months apart and were always more like twins. We did everything together and were best friends through childhood and those wild teen years. When we were teens a song came out called "He Aint Heavy He's My Brother" This was always my song for him -thus it's the title of this blog. As adults no matter how far we were from one another if one had a problem or was hurting the other always knew it. Thankfully we were always just a phone call away and we made many phone calls and when we could be together we had many long chats. It was just......
Christmas 1881
published . 7 min read
This was sent to me-- I jst had to share it with all of you! This is what Christmas is all about... Better bundle up - the goose bumps will freeze you! I think I need to read this every year at Christmas. Pa never had much compassion for the lazy or those who squandered their means and then never had enough for the necessities. But for those who were genuinely in need, his heart was as big as all outdoors. It was from him that I learned the greatest joy in life comes from giving, not from receiving. It was Christmas Eve 1881. I was fifteen years old and feeling like the world had caved in on me because there just hadn't been enough money to buy me the rifle that I'd wanted for Christmas. We did the chores early that night for some reason. I just figured Pa wanted a little......
Thank god for a praying child

Thank God for a praying child This has been a very eventful weekend for me. Those of you who know me know I am disabled due to spinal problems, COPD, pulmonary hypertension and hypertension in the heart and that's just the big problems. I am babysitting my eight month old great-grandson so my granddaughter can go to school and I'm loving every minute of it. But he is crawling now and my living room carpet needed scrubbing. This weekend I helped my husband move the small furniture and did a little of the vacuuming so he could scrub the living room carpet. We made salsa and a cold tuna salad and then decided to have a birthday picnic dinner for my oldest granddaughter, as it was her twentieth birthday. It was awesome my middle daughter her family, my youngest daughter and her family......

What kids say
published . 3 min read
The following is from a lady in Oregon sent to me by e-mail. It is priceless! The Bible explained by kids - truth has been redefined! The more you know, the funnier it is. I laughed until I had tears running down my face! You simply must read these observations on the bible! If the story of Joshua does not make you howl, then you are not alive! One of our favorite jobs has been leading junior church. We try to do more than Baby-sit our church's beloved little ankle-biters during their time in our special junior church facility. We aim to give them a solid background in biblical history. At the end of each year, we give them pencils and paper and ask them to chronicle what they have learned. This assignment never fails to elicit some intriguing responses. In case you're a little......
Woman of god under construction

WOMAN OF GOD UNDER CONSTRUCTION If you have read my profile you know it contains this statement "Woman of God Under Construction". I was reading some scripture verses from a desktop reminder sent to me in the mail by Joyce Meyer Ministries. It's titled "Declarations for your life" and consists of some verses to be read aloud daily. As I reached the end of the list I found myself thinking; I sure have a lot of work that needs done here Lord, which brought my mind to that little statement "Woman of God under construction". Then I began to question, just what does "under construction" mean. So of course now I had to dig out the dictionary and found "construction" defined as things like "the way in which a thing is constructed"......

One Year Ago It was Thanksgiving time, my Son (you all know him as GreyBear) and his family were here to visit for a few days. It was great having them here and having time with my grandchildren. I love just being with them playing games watching fun movies like Two Brothers and Ice Age. It's always a joyous time. Now my Son knew I was a My Spacer. He does not think much of that sight, even though I tried to convince him I had nothing but Christian friends there. He had talked to me over the phone about this Christian Blog site he was on but I had no interest in a blog site, as I'm not a writer. On this particular day since he was here anyway he decided I should have a Christian Blog account and proceeded to set it up for me. He keep encouraging me with things like "just give......
The telemarketer

The Telemarketer Have you ever gotten a call from a telemarketer that left you praising God? Yup that is what I said Praising God! Well I got one this morning. We lost the caller ID on our phone after the phone company was here working on an aggravating static in our phone lines and we had lost our internet connection. Consequently for the time being I can't see who is calling and just blindly answer the phone. I never realized how dependant I was on that silly caller ID to avoid pesky calls! I was in the middle of a sorting project when the phone rang and answered it with a half-hearted "Hello" expecting it to be my youngest daughter just wanting to gab. The lady on the other end greeted me with "How are you today Sandy." I'm thinking how'd she know my......
Fall is comming
published . 1 min read
Well I'm sitting here at my dinning room table looking out the north window and realizing fall is upon us. The sky is clear and so blue with fluffy white clouds that look soft enough to curl up and take a nape on. The air is crisp and cool. The kind of day that excites the spring foals and sends them dashing through the pasture and kicking up their heels. The neighbors old elm, which is so tall I can't even see it's top, has already lost part of her leaves and the rest are shades of green and gold. My own Maple tree is beginning to turn shades of green and orange. Hum I can't see the top of this tree either! The leaves on grape vines are starting to turn a goldish-brown. As I look out the west window to the garden and the climbing roses. The garden has withered and has......
The lords prayer

How often have I said or heard "I don't know what to pray - or I don't know how to pray" Yet in Gods very word we find the instruction we need. It is so simple we seem to overlook it. I memorized this prayer as a child and never forgot it even though I didn't understand the fullness of it's instruction. Someone once explained this to me in a way that made the most wonderous sence. I've thought of doing this as a blog for sometime now and I guess today is the day. THE LORD'S PRAYER Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from......

The Reading lessons It was in March just before his 13th Birthday that my Grandson ask if I could possibly get him a Bible he could read. He offered to work it off, as he knows our money is very tight these days. He had asked his Mom but she had said NO! He explained he was going to youth group with a friend and the only bible he had was to hard for him to read. He is ADHD and has other issues as well. His reading level is only about 3rd grade. After a long conversation with my daughter in-law as to what would be the best Bible to buy, she is a teacher and a wonderful Christian Mom so I knew she'd steer me in the right direction, I trotted off to the Christian book store and got the NIV Adventure Bible for teens. Then I wrote a little note on the inside of the cover the date and his......
Christain internet friends
published . 1 min read
The other day some of us were talking about how we develop strong feeling for our Christian Internet friends even though we have never met them face to face and some ask - I wonder how it is we can feel so strongly for someone we've never met. I'd like to share with you all the answer a Christian Internet friend once shared with me. An Internet Christian friendship is like the relationship we have with our Lord Jesus Christ. We do not have to see the friend to see and understand them. We have an understanding and know how to help each other and pray for one another. We know how to laugh and have fun or cry and be silent. We show compassion and love all without ever seeing each other. We simply communicate with the essence of our spirit and our written words. I thought it a......

I got up this morning thinking it should be a pretty casual day. I had a couple phone calls to make and an errand to run maybe do a load of wash otherwise nothing urgent and nothing overwhelming. I checked my e-mails and checked to see what was new here at CB then it was off to watch my favorite Teaching program on TV and it was great a lesson on trust. How little did I know that in just a few minutes I would be needing that lesson. I decided it was now 11:30 am and I should get something out to thaw for supper. Opened the freezer in my side by side and everything was thawed or thawing! My first thought was OH NO I didn't get the freezer door shut tight when I put all that hamburger in there last night! I checked the fridge things seemed to be ok in there. So I waited awhile and......

I am not one for elaborate words -so I will just tell you what's going on. I am asking for prayer for friends of my youngest daughter -her future sister-in law's family has lost everything they owned except their 2 dogs to a fire this Christmas. They escaped with only the clothes on their back. They have 2 children ages 12 & 8. They had no renters insurance and are presently staying in a motel with no place to go. They are Christians and are just thankful that they got out without injury to them or the dogs. Right now they need prayer for a place to live, clothing and of course all the necessary things needed to furnish a new place. This kind of thing is always tragic but especially at this time of year. I know God can turn this into a blessing for this whole family and am......
A christmas story

When I was in the chat room today someone mentioned there wasn't much Christmas stuff -So here is a Christmas Story just for you. The old man sat in his gas station on a cold Christmas Eve. He hadn't been anywhere in years since his wife had passed away. He had no decorations, no tree, no lights. It was just another day to him. He didn't hate Christmas, just couldn't find a reason to celebrate. There were no children in his life. His wife had gone. He was sitting there looking at the snow that had been falling for the last hour and wondering what it was all about when the door opened and a homeless man stepped through. Instead of throwing the man out, George, Old George as he was known by his customers, told the man to come and sit by the space heater and warm up.......

Then due it to an accident turned into a hospital emergency room visit. My daughter is pretty bruised up from her right side and has internal bruising around the knee. My granddaughter is on crutchs due to an injury to the knee and has a laceration on her right jaw as well as the skin that internally holds the lower lip to the jaw was ripped loose. She has to see a surgeon in 5 days to see if she is going to need plastic surgery. Also they are both saved -but that's as far as it goes -there is little to no maturity there. Thank you so much for your prayers. I will post another Blog when I find out what the surgeon has to say.......

Oh My I'm afraid I may have given a wrong impression here, I by no means meant that music and song are not important to worship in the church/at home or in the office or anywhere you might decide to worship God. It is indeed very important to ones walk with the Lord. But many churches and gatherings are putting to much emphasis on the "feeling" of worship rather than worship it's self. I guess I'm trying to say -we need to get away from "feeling" and back to worship. Love in Christ and God Bless You All...
