Garment of Praise in View of the World Today

Not reading newspapers, not having TV hooked to cable or dish, the only method I have of knowing what's going on in the world is when I turn on my computer. MSNBC is the main screen to pop up first. It's not hard to miss some of the headlines. I sure know why I don't like most venues of news. Some may think that's narrow minded. All newspapers should be called"€œThe Not So Good Herald€". [spacer]Preferring to rely on the LORD'S word in Matthew 24 "€œAnd you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet." € is my choice. [spacer]Very seldom do news reports publish anything uplifting. Yet... however... therefore... and all the more reason we should rely on only one form of news...€“ the REAL Good News. [spacer]Just wanted to share this from the headlines of the "€œThe Good News Herald€". Published before any of our times, yet fresh every day, we don't have to pay to get it delivered to our door and the headlines always have an uplifting word of encouragement and renewal! Good News Herald Dated - Isaiah 61 Published way before our time, yet more than ample for today's news! Going for the average price of free to those that receive. Reported by A. King "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.€ 4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations. 5 Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, And the sons of the foreigner Shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers. 6 But you shall be named the priests of the LORD, They shall call you the servants of our God. You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, And in their glory you shall boast. 7 Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs. 8 €œ For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery for burnt offering; I will direct their work in truth, And will make with them an everlasting covenant. 9 Their descendants shall be known among the Gentiles, And their offspring among the people. All who see them shall acknowledge them, That they are the posterity whom the LORD has blessed.€ 10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. 11 For as the earth brings forth its bud, As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, So the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations." If you are clothed in the garments of salvation, put on your garments of praise, read and hear the Good News Herald and herald the Good News! And if you can sit still when this video hits the 5:39 counter...you best check your pulse! :) Good News Herald

Amen my friend. I love this passage of scripture. It brings such hope.

And I so love that song. God is good my friend, and my soul is rejoicing as I reread this again.:clap:

Thank you for sharing... ..we are blessed with songs (compared with other religion's monotonous or " in minor" songs) that bless us... ... .I love the music.. but perhaps it is my hearing.. I could not catch the words clearly as always... and must have lost much more.

Anyway... keep on singing as I just shared with lampwicke... one of my favorite songs is "Until then" my heart will go on singing.

I enjoyed this 2G, I don't know any news I would rather hear. I do get the local newspaper, and I feel bad admitting, but I look at it mostly to see who has passed away. Terrible I know, but it is the only way I know sometimes. And you were right about the song, the tempo got me moving, and that takes some doing! God Bless, billy

I've tried 3 times to 'reply' to your comment and it won't work right... sigh
So, I have to add another comment...sorry

Glad you liked the music. Of course as you can guess, bethy really like Robin Mark's music too! :)

I am certainly not saying others should not read the newspapers, yet you know there are some out there that hang on EVERY word of the headlines. It can be a very valuable tool...job listings, sale ads, home listings, etc.

I'm absolutely not suggesting anyone to follow my foot steps either...sometimes I don't know where I'm going! ;)
I just want to follow His footsteps!

Thanks for your comment and many blessings! 2G

Excellent...

When we focus on all the negatives, we take away the Glory of the Lord. Its almost a slap to Jesus and His love for us through the cross. The news came through the birth of God's only son... ... Yet.. Who got the news first??

ABC?
Fox?
NBC?
Jay Leno?

The list goes on... but the news.. the Good news came to shepherds... ...

Thank you for sharing with us that the reality of this world is not what is in front of our face...but what is in our hearts toward God.
