Main Scripture: Matthew 18:21-22
Then Peter came up and said to Him “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me and I will forgive him”? Jesus said to him “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven”.
Be kind to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you
But if you refuse to forgive others, your father will not forgive your sins.
But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your father in heaven will forgive your sins too.
Forgiveness is a choice!
Forgiveness is also a commandment from God! It is a direct instruction from Him!
We are required to forgive – because God forgives us!
One of God’s greatest gift to mankind is FORGIVENESS! JESUS came into this world to grant us the forgiveness we need could never grant ourselves.
Without this forgiveness we will not be able to become SAVED! We cannot enter into the family of God.
We must CHOOSE to forgive others as God has FORGIVEN us. And yes, He has forgiven us of a lot!
Unforgiveness is EVIL and it is a great tool of the enemy, particularly in the body of Christ.
We must LET GO of any past hurt and pain – putting it behind us and no longer remembering it
When we operate in forgiveness we are operating in the nature of God – And it is beautiful!
Forgiveness is beautiful and freeing. It takes anger and bitterness away, which are painful, hurtful and restrictive.
Unforgiveness is a stumbling block, a big rock in the life of a believer.
It stops the flow of God – He CANNOT work! He has done something wonderful and beautiful for you and He expects you to extend this to someone else.
Forgiveness – that is choosing to forgive – is extending the LOVE of GOD that you’ve experienced to someone else.
For believers it is crucial to FORGIVE – we entered into God’s family by His Divine Forgiveness and Grace – so how cannot we not forgive others.
What God has forgiven us from and ushered us into is so wonderful, beautiful and glorious – we MUST choose to FORGIVE – to truly lay hold of all God has for us!
Forgiveness let’s God In! He entered your life when He forgave you – similarly God can work when you forgive or operate in forgiveness.
It is important to remember that FORGIVENESS is a CHOICE! We decide to forgive and to let go!
We decide to forgive and LOVE OTHERS, Forgiveness is LOVE!
LOVE is a CHOICE – we choose to love, similarly we choose to forgive and let go of hurts and great pain that others have caused them.
In forgiveness, there is a legitimate wrong doing – something has taken place that is wrong and evil – not right.
So the person who has been wronged – has a right to be upset, angry and disappointed, however as a Christian – a follower of Christ – we must let these hurts go – no matter how we have been wronged!
They is no justifiable case for unforgiveness – no matter who much we’ve been wronged!
Why? Because JESUS DIED TO FORGIVE US and make us GUILTLESS before the father.
We as believ
