Come Hither Neath the Blessed Cross

Come Hither Neath the Blessed Cross

Come hither neath the blessed cross,
Sweet drops of blood from pierced side,
and hands and feet,
To fall ....
on cursed sod,
and shroud our sin from sight!

Come hither neath the blessed cross,
as angels grieve the dying King,
veiled light as clouds roll in,
shut heaven's eyes,
to blot the sight
of all our sins!

Come hither neath the blessed cross,
as heaven cries and creation rage
to quake the earth
give up its dead
and lightning strike
the veil to shred!

Come hither neath the blessed cross,
and love flows down from thorn crowned head,
grace undeserved
poured out and spilled,
to redeem
Adam's murderous seed!

Come hither neath the blessed cross,
where blow was struck,
crushed serpent's head
and heel was bruised,
and death unmade,
sin's price was paid!

Come hither neath the empty cross,
the tomb is bare, the stone away!
Risen King, alive again!
Come hither here, our cross to take
With second birth
In raiment pure and hearts remade!
