Chasing shadows

I watched two people walking through a graveyard this morning .  They couldn't have been missed as one had a multi coloured umbrella which fended off the drizzle that hung around the village like a sour mood.
The umbrella seemed out of place amongst the grey sky and even greyer headstones.  It didn't belong there .   It belonged in a vibrant bustling city centre Street where it's colours would compete for admirers amongst the Christmas lights of shop windows.
The dead is no place for colour ,no place for life .

So as I sit here with the fire lit and the fairy lights glowing I am reminded that our past is a graveyard. It is dead when we are in Christ.  You and I we are clothed in bright raiment ,we belong among the living ,our thoughts belong among the living.   Maybe it's time to stop revisiting your graveyard.  Leave the dead and come out ,walk with the living .

Very true. Great analogy. But I find comfort in the graveyard. In the actual graveyard, not the figurative one… where I most definitely spend too much time.
