Now the woman knows different

Now the woman knows different:

The kids have gone to school and the woman sits with her coffee listening to the relentless ticking of the clock. The tick, tick, tick is reassuring to her today. For it reminds her that time moves on, and with every tick, the past gets further and further behind her.
But there are times when the past seems to want to take up residence on her shoulder. There are times when the tick of the clock is replaced by the whispers of condemnation. And there are times when that voice tries to drown out any other voice that speaks.
But the woman knows differently now. She knows that this is not the voice of reason, the voice of comfort and truth. She knows that this is the last dying surge of a defeated enemy. And he is defeated. As she thinks on Easter and Calvary she lets a tear fall as she remembers her God and what he did for her.

Yes she knows differently now. She closes her eyes and sees her Saviour looking at her from the cross. She sees his eyes as he looked from the dust in which he was writing. She hears his voice... where are your accusers?, "go sin no more", She feels his blood as it falls, droplet by droplet onto her broken and sinful soul.
Yes this woman knows that she is not the person she was. She knows that her Jesus has thrown her sin into his sea of forgetfulness.

She knows and yet at times she listens to this other voice. She allows it to slip into her dreams, to be there when she rests her eyes, when she has her soul unguarded.

But she knows differently now. She knows that He who is in her is greater than he who is in the world. She knows her past cant hurt her, because her past is wiped out.
The price her Jesus paid for her drives her to her knees in love and worship.

Yes.... The enemy may try to harm her, and he may bruise her a little at times... but when once she thought her would destroy...
Now the woman knows different.

Bethy, this is all so true. And your love for our Jesus drips off the page. Remember, this, dearest sister, that when Jesus describes the devil in scripture, this is what He says: no truth

...He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:44

The next time you are doing a kitchen floor worship ... ;) ... keep in mind that whatever the whisperings are in your ear, the truth is just the opposite.

But you already know that ... because you know DIFFERENT. That's right!

Love this blog, and love you.

bethy,

What a fantastic witness your are to the love of Christ Jesus. What a crafty lil devil Satan is, looking for every chink in our armor. Truth patches those chinks.

About a year ago, I came to really begin to know Truth. My life is entirely different, because I, too, know different.

Bless you, bethy:
