Will you paint me a picture of jesus
use neither charcoal nor oil
Will you try not to gilt it in gold leaf
for fear my picture you spoil
Will you paint jesus right in the centre
And tenderness use for his eyes
Will you paint with faith for his shoulders
And use Love to paint in his eyes
Would you try not to leave out his feelings
To paint them use,, hope, and use care
Will you paint in his hands with compassion
And add a flurry of tears
Will you paint little children with jesus
not forgetting the ones who are lost,
And I guess to complete the picture
You'd better paint in a cross
For no picture of jesus is finished
without the scars from the nail,
But please paint those marks inn so carefully
For the scars on my Saviour are real
And finally add in salvation
Use it to frame Jesus face
And put in a small glimpse of heaven
And cover the whole painting with grace
Bethy -this is beautiful! I can see the painting as though it were here!
Thank you so much for sharing this.
Bethy, there are tears in my eyes after reading this beautiful portrayal of jesus. Did you write this? I am going to keep this in my bible - it is so timely. As Christians, sometimes we can get complacent in our walk with Christ, but something like this brings into focus the reasons why we love Him so.
Thank you for giving us this blog today!
Thank you for this beautiful portriat.
I daily for all of my friends here at CB, that God be in our life everyday !! AJ
