Christian Blog Stimulus Package

I promise (unless the Lord tells me otherwise) to not bring this subject up again, but I believe God has laid this burden upon my heart so I am under obligation to share it. Please, I beseech you, take the few minutes to read this and think about what is being said for not only certain aspects of YOUR life hang in the balance but many others who none of us have even met yet.

Anyone who has been around this site for any length of time knows that I write many blogs but hold no position of authority on this site. I write about certain aspects of this site out of my love and appreciation for Christian Blog and what it has done for me and many others that I call friends. I am not an employee of Christian Blog nor am I in any way part of its leadership team. I am strictly the senior blogger and one of the site's biggest donors.

Having established the above, please bear with me and allow me to share some things that I believe are currently being ignored or downplayed. Of course, as you probably figured out, much of this deals with the financial difficulty being experienced by the site.

OK, now that a good number of people have left because they absolutely do not want to hear someone talking about THEIR money, I address the rest of this to the faithful few who are still reading.

First and foremost I personally want to thank those of you who have continued to give into this site financially, through writing blogs and in prayers. However many of you there are who do this faithfully; it is YOU who are keeping this place up and running. Without your willingness to share of your money, time, talents and prayers, this site would have closed down long ago. Your obedience to God working in your heart has allowed God to provide just enough to keep Christian Blog going.

As you know from reading the various things John (Christian Blog's owner) has written, you know that the site it quickly approaching a crossroads. If something does not change in the next two weeks, this site will cease being what it has been for many years. Unless some people make the conscious decision to support this site through being pledge partners and one time donations, this site will soon cease being the blessing it has been and is God's will to be.

For everyone supporting this site there are many who for one reason or another fail to see that it is their job to give anything to someone they have never met to pay his expenses on a monthly basis. This immature and selfish attitude is killing not only this site but many churches and ministries. When most of a person's time and energy is put into finding good reasons NOT to support an effort, that person is in no ways committed to that effort.

We all give our money to causes we believe in. Do you believe in what Christian Blog is trying to do? Has Christian Blog blessed your life, helped you through a difficult time, enabled you an outlet to share things burning on your heart, given you fellowship with others, provided a place to pray and allowed you to meet people who have sincerely been a blessing to you? If you answered YES to any of these questions, my question to you is; are you supporting this great site or just along for the ride?

God is my witness that over the past couple of years, I have spent hours and hours trying to find extra funds to send to Christian Blog. I have gone without many things, choosing instead to send the funds here. I have charged donations on credit cards, used funds that in the past went to other good causes and pretty much scrounged up every spare penny in the house for this site. I am not ashamed of this but rather am at peace that I have done all I can do to help.

People float through this site all the time. People come in with a blaze of glory, write a bunch of blogs and leave tons of comments etc. Interestingly, they usually tell everyone about how much they are doing or giving and how great they are. Then, they suddenly are gone. Like a thief in the night they simply vanish without a trace. Many leave after making pledge commitments etc. They simply were not committed to the site but rather to hearing themselves talk. When they don't develop a following immediately or if someone challenges their thinking they just leave.

I don't want to be one of those who ever quits this site. I want to be one of those who goes down with the ship if that is what happens. I therefore lay out to you a challenge:

I believe if ten people will rise up and publically commit themselves to Christian Blog to stick with it, support it and be actively involved in it; God can then open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings to meet the needs of the site financially as well as spiritually. The Bible says it is better not to vow a vow than to vow a vow and not keep it. Thus, this challenge is only for those willing to keep their vows and who are willing to keep supporting Christian Blog faithfully.

If TEN of us were willing to pledge $200 per month, John's needs would be met and there would be no more of these blogs. Please, if there is any way you can make a pledge or up your pledge to $200, I beseech you to make the commitment to stand with this site and fight for it. If you do not have means to do this, please contact me or John for there is an idea in the works that might help.

For some of us, Christian Blog IS our church family. People like myself are not members of any particular church or denomination. To me, Christian Blog pretty much takes care of everything I consider spiritually important except for outreach and charity programs. Thus, when I decide where to send my tithes and offerings, most of them go to Christian Blog for I believe it is a legitimate ministry doing the Lord's work.

I understand it is very difficult for many to find the funds to give their tithes to their church and still find any to give to another place such as Christian Blog. I understand there are many people, groups and ministries all clamoring for a slice of your financial pie. I also understand that most of us don't have a very big pie.

Although I am not a fan of the so-called "prosperity gospel", I am a huge fan of the promises God makes in 2 Corinthians 8 and 9 to multiply the blessings to us as we give. God indeed states that He is able to make all grace abound toward us so that we always having all sufficiency in all things may abound to every good work. That is quite a promise if you ask me.

I have heard it said countless times in my life that you simply cannot out give God. I know by experience that when God instituted the law of giving and receiving, He did so with a view to being able to bless those who freely give of what He has given them.

God says in Malachi to PROVE HIM specifically in relation to giving. God is more or less "double dog daring" His people to see what will happen when they give. The promise in Malachi is that the windows of heaven will be opened and blessing poured out so that there is no room to put them all.

I am issuing an official DOUBLE DOG DARE to any and all on this site. I DOUBLE DOG DARE you to dig down deep and give MORE than you usually do to this wonderful site and then see what God does in return. I know what the Bible says and thus I know that God is more than willing and able to throw open the windows where He lives and start pouring out blessings by the bucket full.

Now if you don't need a bucket full of blessings, then I excuse from this DARE. But, if you could use a few buckets full of God's blessings in your life or ministry, then I urge you to PROVE GOD herewith and see what happens when you give cheerfully out of willing heart MORE than what is legally required. This kind of free will offering is the greatest kind for it is pure and blesses the heart of God.

Just a word of warning; watch out!!! When God is blessed and starts pouring out the blessings, you better have a huge bucket on hand to catch them all.

What you say is very true. I have been here for nearly three years and have seen that time and time again.
I will be honest here. I do not have a year around job in that I do not get paid during the summer. I have to work other jobs on which the pay is based on student enrollment and even then it is about half of what I normally earn. Summer is very, very tight for us. Since I don't know what my finances will be or even if my classes will run, I give most of what I give as one time donations for our income gets very erratic June-August. That being said, although I usually donate more than that amount in pledges and one time donations, I have just upped my pledge.

When I think about how this site has blessed me, when I think of how friends have reached out to me on this site... even as I was facing death last winter, I feel compelled to give. The bottom line is I want this site to be here for others as it was and still is for me. Truthfully, I want it to also continue to be here for me.

I too, am not an employee of this site. I am simply someone who loves it with all of my heart. I came here as a blogger but what I have received is so much more! What I found was a wonderful community and some of the dearest friends I have ever had. People whom, due to distance, I could have only first met in cyberspace. I truly believe God had a hand in it for amazing things have happened to me here.

I suppose there are a number of people who might be thinking they have not had such things happen to them here. Perhaps not but perhaps... well... perhaps in order to receive, we must also be willing to give... with all of our hearts.

I, too, am very fond of this site. I wish I could become a monthly supporter, but at this time I am unable to do so. I do hope to be able to send a donation once in awhile. I would hate to see this site go away. I know it has helped many people and in the few times I have used it, it has been a real blessing to me. I had joined some time ago, but just recently began visiting and using the site. My prayers are with John and everyone who loves the site as much as I do.

I believe that this site is not just a great place to share with friends but also a place God is using to reach out to those who want to know about Him and want to love Him in return.

I have been praying for John and for CB and have felt led to send money to ChristianBlog above and beyond my Pledge Partner membership. I had pledged to send a small check each month, then earlier this week I had increased my pledge, but I will join K and increase my pledge to once again. (Is there a place where John wants us to tell him what we pledge, or is this just between the Lord and me?)

What a great blessing CB has been to me. Thanks, John, for providing us a place to minister to others and to be ministered to.

Hello Everybody,

I wanted to say a huge thank you to blessings2you and a few others (you know who you are) who have helped organize the "Showers of Blessings" ChristianBlog.Com Donation Match Program that has just started up!

There is no doubt that without the help of a lot of people here, with blessings2you at the front of things, ChristianBlog.Com would be in some pretty serious financial trouble in the near future. I truly do pray that this new "stimulus package" works as well as what your efforts put into it hope to do!

So, thank you brother for your efforts with starting this!!

Thank you John for hanging tough through the bad stretch. I pray the various aspects of the "Stimulus Package" do in fact produce "Showers of Blessings" on this site and everyone on this site who gives into it.

Thank you one and all.
