Go and sin no more part one

The spirit of the law can be summed up in one statement: Go and sin no more. From the time God drove Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden until “The End” , the Word of God has been and continues to be; go and sin no more. Even today, in this age of amazing grace, the clarion call of God's Word is; go and sin no more.

Sin is separation from God. Sin prohibits and prevents a person from enjoying the benefits of fellowship with Him who created the heavens and the earth. Sin is a cancer that infiltrates and demolishes all that is good between God and man. Sin promotes evil and evil is the earmark and trademark of the devil. God hates that which go against who He is and what He desires for His own.

Ever since Adam broke the commandment of God and ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, God has had to deal with a rebellious nature within man that seeks to satisfy itself and in so doing falls into the throes of sin and separation. God could have just destroyed Adam and Eve and started over, but the enemy would have forever used that against God as proving that He is not the God of love and justice He claims to be.

Once Adam and Eve forsook the commandment of God and did things “their way” , God had to provide a means to deal with the sin problem or face the prospect of never being able to have fellowship with man again. To do this, God did and spoke specific things in Genesis 3 that dealt with the new order of things after sin was introduced and what Adam, Eve and the serpent received as the fruit of their disobedience as well as what to expect in the future.

Interestingly, the first one God dealt with was the serpent, the fallen angel Lucifer who still had great beauty and wisdom on earth. Look at Genesis 4:14 and 15:

And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

First of all God cursed the serpent above every living thing on earth. God relegated the serpent to the lowest of all living creatures as evidenced by him having to eat dust all the days of his life. God placed separation between the serpent and the woman and between his seed and her seed. This was a prophecy of the promised seed, Jesus Christ. The serpent would bruise the heel of this promised seed (torture and crucify Him), but this promised seed would bruise the serpent's head in the resurrection.

There is so much to talk about and look at on this subject and of course it cannot be done in one blog. As we look at more and different aspects of the spirit of the law (go and sin no more), I leave you with a promise God gave to Paul to give to the believers in Romans. In light of what we read in Genesis 3, please look at and ponder what Paul wrote in Romans 16:20:

And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under YOUR feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Hmmm, me thinks there is something quite profound being written about here. More later...

Thank you and Blessings 2 You!

We know that Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law, to the letter, every jot and tittle. For us who believe in Him, I believe the Spirit of the Law is to conform us unto His image. We can only 'Go and sin no more', through Him. He is the Spirit of the Law. To the letter.
