Yesterday I had to make a drive to a major supplier of products we sell. I enjoyed the 2 hour drive because I had not been able to make it for awhile. By the time I got there I was blessed and ready for whatever the next couple of hours would bring.
I had noticed the "check engine light" coming on occasionally the past few weeks and had mentioned it to the guy who services my van. His response was one of no concern and that it was probably something with emissions. That light came on yesterday and continued being on throughout times I had to move the car short distances to get from one place to the next.
As I got the van after the fourth stop and turned the key, it would not start. Despite all the lights on the dashboard working, all there was when turning the key was a click. Fighting the tendency to panic, I called my trusty auto club and they sent out a tow truck within 15 minutes. I was not looking forward to being towed all the way back to where my mechanic has his shop, but was relieved to have the service available.
When the truck came, I felt inspired to ask the driver to first try jumping the van. He hooked up the cables, I turned the key and lo and behold the van easily started. Instead of having a disabled van that would need to be towed a hundred miles, I had a van with a bad 2 year old battery that needed replacing. I took it to the chain of stores where I bought it and because it died within 3 years, I received a brand new battery free. Other than the time involved, the whole incident did not cost anything. God is good and His blessings abound.
The point of this little story is that we never know what may be coming around the next bend in the road. We may round that curve and see a beautiful valley or a semi barreling down the mountain in our lane. Either way, the blessings of God would be plainly evident for whether He delivers us from danger or provides us with something to enjoy; God is good and His blessings abound.
Because I had such a spiritually uplifting time driving to the place I went yesterday, when the situation arose with the van, there was actually very little anxiety or aggravation. I knew God would provide a solution and He did. Not only did the immediate situation get handled, but I found out the check engine was somehow tied into the bad battery, for it is no longer on. God is good and His blessings abound.
Amen to that! God bless.
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea..." (Psa 46:1-2)
Hey, Even God wants to be apart of little areas in our lives.
I'm glad he worked that out for you :D
