All around us we are surrounded by hurting, scared and angry people. All around us are old folks so strapped for cash they can hardly feed themselves. All around us are middle aged people thrown out of work and unable to find jobs, even at minimum wage. All around us are young people who could care less about anyone but themselves and their needs and wants.
As the economic structure of this country falls apart, what remains is a community of pain. Hospitals are filled to overflowing with more sick people than they can find beds for. Therapy and substance abuse centers are booked solid with people fighting depression and addictions they have fallen into as a result of the times in which we live.
If there was ever a time when even the strongest people are showing signs of stress and trepidation, it is now. Those who were once trusted to have all the answers have been proven to be as unreliable as those who only guessed at the answers. Those who erected great edifices and bode all to come and trust them with their money and life have fallen relentlessly like dominoes on the board. Once the first one falls, the rest, in due time follow.
How many people entrusted their life's savings with reputable brokers who invested their money in various accounts that have now lost half their value or more. How many people in attempts to get rich quick compromised principle and have now fallen prey to the merciless monsters of desperate financial institutions intent on getting something back on their investments. How many "good" people have watched as their retirement accounts, college accounts and other "safe" investments have dried up and became basically worthless.
We live in scary times to say the least. To say anything else is to be in denial. The world is heading squarely down the path to its appointment with destiny. That appointment has been on the books for thousands of years. It is no secret that the day is fast approaching when all the words of all the prophets in the Old and New Testament will come to pass. There is no hope for this world, only the resolute promise of its destruction in God's due time.
God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to provide a means for humans to find salvation from the death sentence the world is under. Only through faith in Jesus Christ can salvation be found. There is only one way out of this place and that is to purchase a ticket of eternal life through belief in the redemption in Christ Jesus and God raising Him from the dead.
All those who boldly proclaim they do not believe in God and who deny Jesus ever lived, let alone was the Messiah, will one day deeply regret their folly. All those who refuse to yield to the Word of God but rather insist on doing as they please with no fear of retribution, will one day wish they had not been so insolent. All those who spit upon true Christians and take pleasure in torturing them and even killing them will one day weep uncontrollably as their own eternal sentence is read at the Great White Throne.
Yes, we live in a time when man thinks he is God and finds no need to humble himself before the Almighty. We live in a time when man thinks he can solve all the world's problems and that his way is far superior to the outdated and disproven ways of God. We live in a time when what man says is looked upon as the gospel truth and the real Gospel of Jesus Christ is relegated to the dumpsters in the alleyways or boxes in the attic.
But, the day is fast approaching when the final judgment upon man and this world is coming. Romans chapter one says three times that; "God gave them over..." and we are living in the final one, which is ALL EVIL. Everywhere and on all sides evil is growing stronger and more prevalent by the hour. As the darkness grows thicker upon this earth, all the nocturnal creatures intent on purveying their evil upon this world are crawling out of their abodes and scatter as rats upon the land.
Just as in Genesis in the times of Noah, the world is growing more wicked by the minute. Evil is reaching out and ensnaring one person after another in its grasp. Seemingly strong and solid believers are falling prey to the temptation to lie, cheat, steal and do whatever it takes to stay alive and maintain their pampered lifestyle.
In this "dog eat dog" world, things are quickly falling into a state of "only the fittest survive". Compassion and care for those who are weak, injured or elderly is being replaced with the notion that resources should be spared for the youngest and most able to contribute to society. The day is soon approaching when those who cannot keep up will be either left behind to die or will be "put down". The justification will be that there are not enough resources to waste on those who are not able to carry their own weight.
"Fantasy" and "It will never happen" are the cries from skeptics who don't believe this scenario will ever play out. These are the same people who said man would never make it to the moon or that computers would one day run the earth. These things WILL happen as the day of man hastens toward its ugly end. Man will end up doing whatever it takes to survive the outpouring of the wrath of God. Certainly getting rid of the weak will be high in the sequence of events to come.
I do not feel sorry for those who arrogantly deny God, His Son or His Word. I do feel for and my heart aches for those who ignorantly have thrown their entire lives into the "safe keeping" of evil men whose only intent is to steal, kill and destroy all they can get their hands on. As for me and my house, we will commit our lives to the only wise God and to our Lord Jesus Christ for the safekeeping of our very souls.
I leave you with the astounding words of Martin Luther as recorded in the hymn, "A mighty fortress is our God" written almost 500 years ago, but could have been penned this morning:
A mighty fortress is our God,
a bulwark never failing;
our helper he amid the flood
of mortal ills prevaling.
For still our ancient foe
doth seek to work us woe;
his craft and power are great,
and armed with cruel hate,
on earth is not his equal.
Did we in our own strength confide,
our striving would be losing,
were not the right man on our side,
the man of God's own choosing.
Dost ask who that may be?
Christ Jesus, it is he;
Lord Sabbaoth, his name,
from age to age the same,
and he must win the battle.
And though this world, with devils filled,
should threaten to undo us,
we will not fear, for God hath willed
his truth to triumph through us.
The Prince of Darkness grim,
we tremble not for him;
his rage we can endure,
for lo, his doom is sure;
one little word shall fell him.
That word above all earthly powers,
no thanks to them, abideth;
the Spirit and the gifts are ours,
thru him who with us sideth.
Let goods and kindred go,
this mortal life also;
the body they may kill;
God's truth abideth still;
his kingdom is forever.
I posted my blog this morning before reading yours.
We must be on the same "wavelength" so to speak.
However, I like your blog much better than my own.
I knew it would be coming eventually....now tell the truth, were you singing the song as you typed the words?? LOL
Thanks for the post and the reminder of the great great words of that mighty hymn.
Thank you B2Y for calling our attention to the endtimes.
For the Christians the following hymn gives us relief:
In these the closing days of time
What joy the glorious hope affords
That soon O wondrous truth sublime
He shall reign King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
The signs around in earth and air
Or painted on the starlit skies
God's faithful witnesses declare
That the coming of the Saviour draweth nigh.
He's coming soon, He's coming soon
With joy we welcome His return
It may be morn (USA,Canada, S Americas), it may be night (NZ/Singapore/PRC) or noon ,( India, Europe, UK, Africa)
We know He's coming soon.
Praise the Lord. - let's be ready!
As usual B2Y you bring truth right to the front of the page.
This word seems scarier every day, more and more evil things happening. In the government as well as in the lives of individuals things are fast falling apart.
:coffee: drinking tea
Amen, B2Y, amen. May these words continue to burn in our hearts. During the early years of my marriage in particular we had to rely on God to provide and care for us as things were often very uncertain. I'm thankful for those lessons I learned back then as they taught me I walk beside a very big God! We must never forget that. He will never, ever abandon us...no matter what things look like!
B2Y when we pray & fast, and keep his word hidden in our hearts and live a holy life before him,he is a just God, and will keep his promises to us,even in these times of trials we face today, we must must keep our eyes upon the Lord,He feeds the sparrows, how much more !! ? Thanks again for a wonderful blog, AJ
I had just finished reading V's blog :) and was humming "God, and God alone is fit to take the universe's throne" when I came upon your blog. If that isn't an affirmation I don't know what is. As men and women around the world seek to send us all down the gurgler it is good to know the God in whom we live and move and have our being. This is where we really start learning about faith. Bless you my brother for another awesome blog.
Things were bound to go really wrong at the end.
God knows everything, he has a heavenly mansion and eternal wealth laid up for everyone.
We each have an inheritance there that is far better than our wealth here.
Jesus said to store yourselves treasure where it cannot be lost (In Heaven) the banks do not have access to these divine funds,
where your heart is you riches are also.
Trust in god he will deliver our nations, he is Yahweh.
