“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”
How often are we to pray? ALWAYS
How are we to pray? With all prayer and supplication in the spirit
How much to we pray? With all perseverance
Who do we pray for? ALL SAINTS
Prayer is not rocket science. It is so simple a child need not err therein. In and of itself, prayer is simply speaking out to God. Prayer is something we can do at anytime, anywhere and for anyone. Prayer can be praise for God and all He has done, a specific request for a believer’s need or beseeching God’s intervention through intercession.
Please look and ponder upon some of the verses in the New Testament that relate to prayer:
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”
1 Timothy 2:1, 2
“We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;”
1 Thessalonians 1:2
“Pray without ceasing.”
1 Thessalonians 5:17
“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,”
Philippians 1:3, 4
“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”
Romans 8:26, 27
“Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
I could keep quoting Bible verses for a long time but it is very obvious that praying for each other with prayers of supplication is essential for believers. Prayer is something we should be doing whenever a person or situation hits our minds. Prayer is the spontaneous response to the spirit at work within us alerting us to a need within the Body of Christ.
I thank God that He so trusts us that He exhorts and allows us to pray without ceasing for each other. I thank God that because of the righteousness of Christ within us, we can come boldly before God’s throne of grace in time of need. I thank God that we can manifest His love at any time through prayer. Prayer is truly A BIG DEAL!!!!
As always, Blessings 2 You!
