Rise up oh men and women of God

When I ponder the greatness of what God did for us in and through the work of His Son Jesus Christ, I have no choice but to melt into a heap of thankfulness. When I think of everything our Lord Jesus went through so as to purchase for us redemption, justification, righteousness and sanctification I have no choice but to weep in grateful worship and praise to the Lord of Lords and King of Kings.

We deserved absolutely nothing but punishment and death due to our sinful nature that drove us away from God. It was only through God’s super abounding grace and mercy that we have been delivered from the wages of sin and given the gift of eternal life. When I reflect upon how much God loves me and how deep His mercy and grace is, I have no choice but to bow down before Him in humble adoration.

When I read in God’s Word of all the glorious things we have in Christ Jesus I stand in awe of how much God loves us. When I read about the power, strength and might we have in Christ I wonder if I ever will rise up to who I really am in Him and do what all things through Christ who strengthens me. When I see just a glimpse of all that is available when we walk in fellowship with God, renewing our minds to His Word and manifesting the power within, I have no choice but to try and rise up and become all God has made me in Christ Jesus.

God has reconciled us to Himself through Christ and has called us to be ambassadors for Christ. God has commissioned us to represent all that Christ is and can do for someone through our lifestyle and way we live life. When I think about how much God has entrusted us with I have no choice but to get up and stand for Him, and having done all STAND.

If ever there was a time for God’s people to rise up and live the Gospel it is now. If ever there was a time for Christians to lift high the name of our Lord it is now. If ever there was a time for all of us to cast aside the weight that so easily distracts us and run with patience the race set before us it is now. If ever there was a time to lay down our stones and lift up the downtrodden it is now.

“Rise up, O men of God!
Have done with lesser things.
Give heart and mind and soul and strength
To serve the King of kings.

Rise up, O men of God!
The church for you doth wait,
Her strength unequal to her task;
Rise up and make her great!

Lift high the cross of Christ!
Tread where His feet have trod.
As brothers of the Son of Man,
Rise up, O men of God!”

 I thought of an old Petra song written by Bob Hartman:
The Battle cry's getting louder
The countdown's close to the final hour
The enemy is on every side
Still no match for the Crucified
Victory unto victory
We are soldiers in His army

(Chorus)
Stand up, take a stand for Jesus
Stand up, so the whole world sees us
Showing the way to a world gone astray
Shing our light with all of our might
Stand up, take a stand for Jesus
Stand up, so the whole world sees us
Following Him, and serving Him
Fighting the fight that we know we will win

Out of our pews and into the streets
Making some use of our beautiful feet
Redeeming the time for the days are evil
This whole world's in such upheaval
We wrestle not with flesh and blood
But when the enemy comes in like a flood

Gotta lay our lives down
And stand up for the truth we've found
Gotta let the redeemed of the Lord say so
May we rise up and stand for Christ... no matter what!

Blessings!
