The Lordship of Jesus Christ--submission and faith

Please look again at Romans 10:9, 10:

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved .

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation .

What proof in the senses realm do we have that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead? Honestly, we have no more proof than Noah had that there would be a deluge, than Abraham had that he would have a son, than Moses had that the Red Sea would part or than David had that Goliath would be slain. In each of these cases, faith in God s Word was absolutely demanded in order to see the promises God made come to pass.

God demands that we manifest absolute faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead in order to be saved. In fact, this is the ONLY thing God demands a person believe in order to receive the righteousness which comes by faith. God does not demand people walk on the water, live on locusts and honey, forsake all and become a hermit or anything else. All God demands is that a person genuinely believe that God raised Jesus from the dead.

When it comes to "getting saved", God does not demand a person believe Jesus is Lord of their life but rather that they simply confess from their depths of their soul that JESUS IS LORD. Please look again at Philippians 2:9-11:

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name :

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth ;

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father .

When God raised Jesus from the dead, He gave Him the name which is above every name which is JESUS CHRIST. Every knee of every living creature everywhere should bow at the name of Jesus Christ. Every tongue of every living creature everywhere should confess that Jesus Christ IS LORD to the glory of God.

Romans 10:9,and 10 is indeed equal to Philippians 2:9-11. For a person to be saved and declared righteous they simply must bow their knee to Jesus Christ and confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ IS LORD. The two things God demands of a person in order for them to be saved are indeed submission and faith.

Each day for the rest of our lives we must strive to submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ by placing our faith in Him. Each day for the rest of our lives we must consciously bow our knee to Jesus Christ as our Lord and place our hearts, needs, dreams and very lives into His loving hands instead of our own. Confessing Jesus is Lord takes only a moment, but making Him Lord of your life takes a lifetime of submission and faith.

We tend to have two camps in Christianity. We have those who confess but believe that once they do that, they have made Jesus Lord of their life. It doesn't matter whether or not He really is. Confessing that He is, that is enough.

Then we have the other side of the coin. The people in this camp scoff at the simplicity of salvation, this salvation which is so simple that even a child may receive it. Instead they want it to be all about works.

I don't believe either view in itself is correct. I believe we must repent and confess that He is Lord but then... we must live like He truly is Lord all the days of our lives.

Praise God! This message really blessed me and encouraged me. The faith that these men showed is incredible. I can only hope and pray that I can fully submit to Christ and soley rely on him and his word. Take care.

I am fully convinced to understand this, to get back to the truth of faith and grace and resolve the issue we need to revisit and know what God did in Christ and through Christ, what Christ did for love and by love. The life, Cross, and resurrection.

Even while sinners we were given the smidgen of faith to believe.
Good post brother.
