This one (#499) is for YOU

In looking over the submissions for the upcoming 500th blog entry, there was no clear cut winner so I guess I will have to skip 500 and move on to 501. Seriously, since there were 11 legitimate suggestions and one that I will cover shortly; I have made an executive decision based on the fact that I am the one who must write the blog. The decision I have made is coming up after these commercials...I guess that only works on television.

I have decided to postpone the 500th blog until either Sunday or Monday and when I write it, it will be on whatever the Lord places on my heart to write about. But, to show my appreciation for all the wonderful suggestions, I have also decided to write a blog on each one over the course of the next few weeks. So, each one of the eleven suggestions will have a blog written on the topic, but the illustrious 500th will be on none of them.

My hidden agenda here is that if you want to see your suggested blog written about, you must read my blog to find out if it is yours. Aren't I devious? What a brilliant way to get people to look at what I write. I will get to each of the subjects suggested as soon as I can put proper research into them. Some of the ideas will entail a little more work than others (i.e. dry bones).

So having said all this we are now in blog entry 499. I did want to at least touch on the subject of "how to paint a house". Considering I have never actually done such a thing, I can only guess that one would need some paint, a few brushes and rollers and a ladder. My assumption is that it would be best to start at the top and go down so as to paint over the long drips. I would guess it would be best to paint the house all the same color. I have heard of the phrase "a horse of a different color" but not a "house".

There you have it. Everything I know about how to paint a house. If you desire more information you will have to consult with Papillionkiller for he seems to be the expert on these matters (along with many others). Once you have sufficiently learned how to do this, please come and paint my house. Just kidding, we have vinyl siding. Whew, that was tough, but I actually covered one of the suggestions for the 500th blog in number 499.

Waxing sentimental here for a moment; I know full well that there are many folks here who actually read some of what I write about and by God's grace manage to get blessed. I also know there are many who never read anything I write about because they think I am the antichrist, I am totally wrong on everything or I am an arrogant blowhard for writing almost every day. Let me assure any and all of you that I am NOT the antichrist. I am glad to get that one off my chest.

As far as being wrong all the time on all matters, I may be wrong on some things but I can't believe I would or could be wrong on everything. As I have written about many times, I have actually changed what I believe regarding certain matters because of blogs written and comments left here by some of you. I am not above changing how I feel about an issue if I can see the logic and Godliness of it.

That leaves the dreaded problem of me being arrogant because I write so much. I would agree that some people who write or talk a lot ARE arrogant and very selfish. If I am such, I pray to God that He would zap me with 100,000 volts of humility today. I NEVER want to be found guilty of being self serving, selfish or arrogant; NEVER.

I write because I feel it is what God wants me to do with my life. I write because I believe somebody at some time will read the words and get inspired, encouraged, comforted, reproved, corrected or just plain blessed. I do not write for the sake of getting comments, and I usually only get 3 or 4 so I fail to see why anyone would think that way. I do not write to be the first one to 300, 400 or 500. I have reached these milestones only because I have stuck with writing even during times I wanted to quit and move on to other things. I only write so much because I pray it helps someone and because God has blessed me so much to give.

Most of you have no idea how great of a blessing you are to my life. Most of you have no idea I try to pray for you almost every morning. Most of you have no idea how deep my respect and Christian love runs for you. I can assure you that many of you are some of the most important people in my life, and I don't know a single one of you. That to me shows beyond a shadow of a doubt that GOD IS COOL.

Many of you were going strong here long before I came along. If not for the encouragement, support and prayers many of you offered for me long ago, I would have moved on to other places to write. But, some of you, and you know who you are, stepped in and fought for me when I got banished for a few days a year ago. Some of you stuck with me during obvious times of distraction when the quality of my blogs were not that great. Many of you stood in the gap and lifted me and my wife up to the Father a few weeks ago during my surgery.

Yes, I dedicate this 499th blog to YOU, meaning those of you who think I have something worthwhile to say and who have continued reading what I write enough to make it worth the while to write. I honestly do not know how I would have survived the past year without YOU. I honestly do not know what kind of physical, mental and spiritual mess I would be if not for the prayers and support many of YOU have showered upon me.

I do not know at this moment what the 500th blog will be about, but one thing I will guarantee and that is I will do all I can to make sure it comes directly from the heart of God to YOU. I will pray and fast and humbly bow myself before the Almighty asking Him to bless me with words which will be a blessing to YOU. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life by way of these blogs and my vow to YOU is that I will do everything I can to remain a Blessing 2 YOU.

Wadaya mean, my suggestion isn't going to be Blog 500. I thought I was your dearest fr... Oh, no. That was alight, before he took it back.

Truly blessed by your faithfulness.

Albert Bunyea @bubbavela ·

write about this.

2 Corinthians 12
7 To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.
8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.
9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
10 That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

be a blessing

Okay, so now that you've tricked everyone into clicking onto this expecting to read about themselves...

I have to agree with you (in spite of myself) that God is indeed cool!

So, Kbird's chocolate cake with fresh strawberries and cream didn't sway you, huh? What a man of integrity!

@ Kbird

Alight took it back?

Kirk M @blessings2you ·

O.K., I admit, the title of this is a little deceptive in that only the final few paragraphs are really all about YOU, but I wanted someone to read it and I figured all the YOUs out there would.

Andrew Luckhaupt @luckyone ·

(taking notes) B2Y is not the antichrist.....wait a minute wouldn't the antichrist say he is not the antichrist????? Or is B2Y trying to be funny. Oh why is there not a sarcastic tone font on the computor??? I never thought he was the antichrist...He brought it up. Now I'm suspicious!

LOL dude you bless us on a daily basis. I'll still read even if you are a blowhard!LOL

&:clap:for you!

Now I'm even more excited!! Not only will I get to read your 500th blog which will be a direct message from God but I know I have 11 more exciting blogs to look forward too as well!!:clap::clap:

The antichrist  me thinks not

As for those that complain about your blogs -- some people think they are the only one that knows anything, but you have clearly stated you are not so knowledgeable you have nothing left to learn.

Please remember: You can please part of the people part of the time and some of the people some of the time but you will never please all of the people all of the time. The lesson here ---- Just keep writing what God puts on your heart and as often as he tells you too. After all he is the one you must please.

About painting a house: You should use more than one color at least two, One for the body of the house and one for the trim and it helps to have the front door even another color. in fact the older type homes often have many colors six or seven even. Also you will need platform (unless you have a very small one story) , not just a ladder or you will end up with a very sore back and knees from climbing up and down the ladder. And a roller is much quicker than a brush also if you intend to use a sprayer -be sure you cover the trim windows and doors or you could have a big problem

Be Blessed Brother
For you are a Blessing

I am still laughing hysterically at this, as well as, all the responses. Do you have any idea what you people do to me? My sides ache from the laughter...... I got tired of waiting and wrote on it Actually.. God gave it to me last night... but I would still LOVE to read your take on Psalm 116... so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE write. Much hugs to you.

My brother, I praise God for you. It never occurred to me that you were/are a blowhard--the humility and the desire to please God is evident in your writing. I am thankful for you, and I read your blogs ("mini-sermons") and am blessed. Even before I rejoined CB, I would come onto the site and read them. I even printed some of them out and sent them to a young man who is in prison. He used to be on fire for God, and he left the path of righteousness (there, but for the grace of God, go I), and he is now serving a sentence without parole--7 more years. He will be 35 when he gets out. So--it isn't just CB that you are blessing. Continue in humility, continue to seek the face of the Lord, and continue to bless us with your wisdom.

Oh, i just thought of a blog i would like to hear from you about, 'Blogging As Spiritual Psychotherapy'. I know what you have written in good therapy for me.

I did a search on 'blessings2you' on the web and found 32 million hits. May your encouraging messages increase a thousand-fold and continue to be available the world over.

Let me know when you have your house painting party, i'll still have some pole extensions for rollers and brushes.

Kirk M @blessings2you ·

Holy painted house batman, I never thought this blog would receive such a treatment. I could write another blog just commenting on the comments.

I hereby pass the torch regarding house painting to "poodlelady". She obviously has painted a few houses in her lifetime and whenever "pappilonkiller" reads this, I hope he listens to her and not me. Of course a house needs different trim color and door color, duh B2Y.

Two million hits, boy I wish they were all me; ah, but alas there are others parading around the universe using those words, although I own the rights if I ever wanted them for anything. Interesting to know.

That was truly thrilling and a blessing to my heart beyond words to hear "redeemed forever" what you said and did with some of my writings. Thank you.

I am glad, for the most part, you have looked upon this blog for what it was, which according to "gracie" is ?????????

Seriously, I honestly don't know on which planet I would be on now if not for you amazing and wonderful believers. All of you have blessed my life a thousandfold and I pray God blesses you back with as much chocolate cake and strawberries with cream as you want. Thank you for all your kind responses and I look forward to whatever God lays on my heart to write this weekend for the Christian Blog 500.

Sandy Brooks @poodlelady ·

HAHAHAHAHA ---- B2Y I have never painted a house in my life -but I do watch HGTV and DIY and they are very instructive home remolding programs
