Walking with and trusting God

Anyone who says that walking with God is not at times an adventure has never walked with God. Anyone who says that trusting God is not at times tedious has never totally put their trust in God. Anyone who says that listening to God is not at times nearly impossible has never heard His voice.

Walking, trusting and listening to God form the foundation upon which we build a living, true and vital relationship with God. Despite being an adventure, frustrating and at times seemingly impossible to do; with persistence and perseverance stemming from the love in our hearts for God, we can know God.

Noah walked with God and because he did, he listened to the Word of God and trusted it to be true. Thankfully Noah knew God and did as He commanded by building the ark. None of us would be here otherwise.

Abraham walked with God and because he did, he listened to the Word of God and trusted it to be true. Because Abraham knew God and loved God, he believed God with all of his heart. This faith allowed him to become the father of all who believe, including you and me.

Moses walked with God and because he did, he listened to the Word of God and trusted that it was true. Moses received more of the Word of God than any man who ever lived. Moses could not and would not have been the man of God he ended up being if not for the relationship he had with God.

David walked with God and because he did, he listened to the Word of God and trusted that it to be true. David slew Goliath and rose up to be the greatest king Israel ever knew. David was a man after God's own heart because he knew God and had a personal relationship with God.

Religion does not promote a personal relationship with the god it has created. Judaism and Christianity are the only two faiths that advocate walking with God, trusting God and listening to God. Instead of being lowly slaves or mindless robots, our faith is built upon and energized by the relationship we have with God due to our trust and willingness to listen to and obey the Word of God.

Jesus Christ walked with God every moment of His life. Jesus listened to the Word of God and trusted it to be true. As a man, he HAD to do this in order to redeem us and be our Savior. Jesus knew and loved His Father with every ounce of His being, and this love and adoration allowed Him to obey God even unto his very death upon the cross.

Godliness is defined as being a real, true and vital spiritual relationship with God that is totally opposite to religion. I pray that each one of us can have such a relationship with God and enjoy the fruits of Godliness that come with it.

Thank you and Blessings 2 You!

Excellent message brother. I really don't understand why your blogs are no longer showing up on my Home Page Blog Feed. If I hadn't looked into the "Most Recent Blog" listing I would have missed this one as well as a couple of your latest postings. Blessings ~Hoyle

You know what? They are not showing up on my home page blog feed either! If I did not have you listed as a blogger I follow, I would not be aware of these for I am on CB so much that I rarely go to the most recent blogs. Hmm...

Anyway, I agree. It seems to me that it is only in Judaism and Christianity where we discover the love of God and that it is His utmost desire that we be in relationship with Him.

Blessings!

I really liked your blog. Seems a lot of blogs recently have touched on our personal relationship with God. I also liked the photo. Cheeky cat and what well disciplined dogs. Thank you. Phil
