What awaits all the "experts"?

We live in an age of experts telling us what to believe, how to think and what we can and cannot do in this life. Whether in governmental, economical, educational or religious realms; these "know it alls" demand to be listened to simply because of their educational degrees and/or positions of authority. It is actually quite funny that these people demand to be believed not because because they are right, but only because of who they think they are.

The ego and pride of man causes him to project an arrogance which elevates him to lofty pedestals where the minions are to bow in humble adoration. Inflated self esteem has driven them to believe the world cannot exist without their opinion or input on every critical matter in life. Psychologically, the term for such behavior is narcissism (excessive self-admiration and self-centeredness). Biblically the term used for such behavior is vanity.

God will not eternally withhold His righteous judgment against the wickedness and idolatrous ways of man. The day is soon coming when man must give an account of his evil and pride before God. The day is soon approaching when all those who laugh in God s face today will be face down in the mud of eternal torment due to their stubborn pride and unrepentant heart.

Yes, man today thinks just because he has a Dr. or a Rev. or some other designation in front of his name or a MBA or CEO behind his name that he has carte blanche to do and say as he pleases. The inconvenient truth is just the opposite. Those entrusted with the most knowledge need to lead the way to God's throne room and help others to know of and learn about God instead of using their abilities to serve themselves and demand others serve them.

We either must be content in what God made us or spend our days being led around on a leash by those whose power and influence control this world. The great and eloquent speakers deceive the simple minded who cannot or will not think for themselves. Those who are able to seduce their listeners with vain promises and illusions of grandeur are those who shortly will find themselves buried beneath great piles of rubble as their systems and structures of unbelief collapse upon their very heads.

The hour is fast approaching when the pride and arrogance of man will cease and Jesus Christ will be Lord of all. The hour is nearing when all the great exploits of man will be burned into chaff and they find themselves standing before the Eternal King with nothing to show for this life but burned up rags. When the great and mighty are stripped of their arrogance and pride; all that will be left will be cold and hapless souls whose eternal fate will be due recompense for their egotistical and selfish arrogance in this life.

As I read your blog, I thought about the origin of the word "narcissus". In Greek mythology Narcissus was a young man renowned for his beauty. He became so proud of himself that he scorned all others for they were not as good him. He came upon a pool of water one day and caught a glimpse of his own reflection. He reached for the beautiful "creature" in the water to no avail. He had fallen in love with his own reflection. Refusing to take his eyes off of himself, he languished and died there beside the still water, eyes fixed upon his own reflection.

The moral of this story cannot escape us. The love of self above all else will destroy us.

Blessings!
Rev. 15:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
:headbanger: Yes there is a way that seem right to man, so much so that man questions if God exist. Man created the blasphemy that he stand on his toes and click his heels about. I give him credit for all the abominations of the earth. Mythology in Egypt got the Christians on the run today. It is sad to say that it won't end when Jesus returns in the rapture but it will be over as Rev. 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city; and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured him.

Revelation 17 speaks of the harlot sitting upon many waters. Everyone seems to struggle with what that is. What if this harlot, this seducer is a money/economic system. Just this morning the news is talking about Bernie Madoff, and how he has had to give up some things. He is in prison, in prison for bilking millions of dollars from people; people who wanted to get richer.
George Soros is a Jew that hates God, hates Israel, and hates America. He has collapsed entire economies just for his financial gain, and had his hand in our economy as it has taken this unending plummet. All in the name of money. People cry and ask why does the oil company have to keep raising prices; money. Someone needs a bigger boat. Perhaps the harlot is greed. When Jesus comes things will be made straight, the earth will be purified, and law will be kept.

Come Lord, and come quickly

so where do we draw the line?
do we listen to the pediatricians who warn us about our children's nutritional needs?
do we listen to the teacher who tells us that 1+1=2?
do we listen to the american cancer society who tells us we shouldn't smoke around pregnant women?
the bible told us repeatedly to look at nature and the natural laws to help explain things.
this is science. these are the laws that God put in place.
He warned us "the earth will become desolate because of its inhabitants, as the result of their deeds."
and then He warned us again, "the time has come for judging the dead, and for ... and ...and for destroying those who destroy the earth.
so if someone is warning you that you are harming the earth then you better do more than just turn a deaf ear.

this is how you know what Love is, He died for us, and we should do the same

Every time I see a commercial of a politician telling the public how they are going to do wonderful things for everyone if they are elected, I think that commercial was paid for by people who really will bebfit if he gets elected. Not me, I didn't give him anything. - Bibleguy64
