The Auction Poem

A lady walks in Shattered and clothing torn Slips in, back row Her life falling apart. Another lady walks in Rich and "blessed" Her head held high. The pastor takes the stage And says There are a million things Waging for your souls But only one will win So let the auction begin. A man walks in Gets on his knees and prays Wondering how he's going to make through Wondering how things will get better. Another man walks in Starts mocking their faith He says I've got all I need here As he waves his money around. The pastor says again There are a million things Waging for your souls But only one will win So let the auction begin. Someone speaks up Satan sir would you like to make a bid? He replies Yes for the first young lady I will give riches I will give her prosperity I will give her a beautiful house. For the second lady Even more popularity More riches She will be adored by all Worshiped by many. Now for the young man Let's see for the first one I will give him whatever his heart desires I will show him what he needs in this life Everything he needs to get by. For the second young man Yes I want him too He doesn't need the church He's doing just fine on his own I will give him even more riches A bigger fancier car And a bigger house. The pastor's voice echoes There are a million things Waging for your souls But only one will win So let the auction begin. Any more bidders? Any one willing to pay higher? Going once, going twice. Jesus! What do you bid? I want them all Both young ladies And both men. For the first young lady I will give her the love she longs for Healing for her soul Arms to hold her Someone to love her And someone she can love. I will give My life All My blood An eternity with My Father I am willing to give up. For the second young lady I will show her there's more than what she's living for That someone loves her for who she is I will erase the scars of her past And the shame she's hiding beneath her soul I will show her who she is to Me. I will give My life All My blood An eternity with My Father I am willing to give up. For the young man on his knees I will give him the strength and the faith To carry on through this world I will restore his family A mighty breakthrough. I will give My life All My blood An eternity with My Father I am willing to give up. One last time the pastor asks Any other bids? Anyone going to bid higher? Jesus stands up I will give everything and anything I want them and they belong to Me. Silence fills the room Then a voice echoes through "It is finished." "The price has been paid." There are a million things Waging for your souls But only one will win So let the auction begin. Jesus stands up once more and says Though some reject For ALL I will give My life I want them and they belong to Me That one day they might see The love that's always been there So let the auction begin
