ChristianBlog.Com is announcing a new Privacy Feature that allows you to protect your Profile page and your Blog Entries from those you might not want to be viewing your information.
This feature, which we call "Account Privacy" acts on a level above our Blacklist Feature, in that it protects you from people who are NOT members of ChristianBlog.Com and/or people who may be members of ChristianBlog.Com but are not logged into ChristianBlog.Com!
This new feature, Account Privacy, can be accessed by going to your "Account" page (top navigation) than selecting "Account Privacy" and following the instructions.
"Account Privacy" is available to ALL members of ChristianBlog.Com, as we would not hamper such an important privacy issue to just premier/gold members.
For the ultimate in privacy we allow you to have three different options:
(1) Anybody can view your profile page
(2) Only Members of ChristianBlog.Com can view your profile page
(3) Only your Friends/Contacts here at ChristianBlog.Com can view your profile page
Additional we provide the option (which is only applicable if you choose to not display your profile to everybody) of showing a random group of four of your Friends/Contacts - which can be useful to help people looking for you to know if you are actually who they are looking for.
First up is how the settings page looks:
Next we see how a profile page would look if the member has chosen to only allow their fellow ChristianBlog.Com Friends/Contacts to view their profile/blogs:
Next we see how a profile page would look if the member has chosen to allow only those who are members of ChristianBlog.Com (and are logged into ChristianBlog.Com) to view their profile/blogs:
Lastly we see how a profile page would look if the member has chosen to allow only those who are members of ChristianBlog.Com (and are logged into ChristianBlog.Com) AND has chosen to not display any of their Friends/Contacts:
If you choose to change your Privacy Settings to anything other than "Anybody" your Blog Entries WILL NOT be displayed on the non-logged-in home page of ChristianBlog.Com - as should be obviously expected.
At this point the Account Privacy settings are only active on the ChristianBlog.Com Home Page, individual Profile Pages, and individual Blog Entry pages. Over the course of the weeks ahead we will continue to expand this feature to protect the Gallery, Discussions, Group Discussions, and other parts of the website.
It should be understood that ChristianBlog.Com does not legally guarantee 100% anonymity - we never have and we never will. If you are looking for 100% anonymity we recommend you terminate your account and look for another online service which does promise that - though we know of none that can actually guarantee 100% anonymity.
It was made known to us by [member=girlforgod]girlforgod[/member] that there was a small issue with setting your account to "Friends Only" that prevented you from viewing your own profile.
Needless to say I have now fixed this.
Sorry for the confusion this caused. I have attempted to completely test it and it does seem to be working correctly now. Please let me know if it is not solved for anybody using this feature.
