Free Membership Returns!

Greetings Christian Bloggers,

On October 01, 2012 ChristianBlog.Com switched away from being a free website to being an all-paid-website.

Now, a little over 900 days later, we are announcing that we are doing away with our 30-day trial membership.

The last 2 years and 6 months has seen some incredible things happening at our website, some good, some bad, and some that are just miracles from above.

By making a change away from having a trial membership it will allow Christians from around the world to have a Christian website from which to blog, even if they are unable to afford doing so.

As was mentioned in our last announcement, "Spending Money To Save Money", changes have had to be made in order to keep the CB ministry going. This is something many of you have heard many times over the last few years, but as was explained, the eventual reality finally reached a point of facing and making changes or shutting down.

Financially, the ChristianBlog.Com website has never been able to cover its own expenses. It was our hope, back in October of 2012, that we could achieve enough bloggers willing to pay a small amount of money each month to make the ministry sustainable. Now, 130 weeks later, we have still not reached a point where we are even close to breaking even each month.

If the website is to continue, and if it is continue to not be able to financially support itself, the best idea that we have been able to come up with is to go out in as good a way as possible - by blessing as many people as we can.

Over the course of the next few weeks a number of additional features will be removed from the website. This are in addition to the features we have already been forced to remove. Our goal and purpose here is to scale back the website to the very core of what it is, a blogging website for Christians.

By reducing features we can reduce the amount of money it takes to keep the website online. By not developing new features for the website (there has been an average of one new feature added every 26 days over the last three years) this will further reduce the costs it takes to keep the website operational.

By opening up the website to allow members to stay longer than 30 days, it is our hope that a few of them will want to support the ministry and upgrade their account.

We will be keeping our existing two levels of paid membership, and we want to let folks know that the features for the different tiers have changed.

All members of our website should review our membership features page. It should be noted that we expected it totake a week or more to make these changes to the entire website.

Our thanks go to the small group of long-time bloggers here at CB that have helped us through this process. This has not been an easy decision, though it has felt like the right decision from the very beginning. It is our sincerest hope that all of our existing bloggers that currently financially support us will continue to do so. And, now, more so then ever, we need financial help to keep the doors open.

If you are new to the website, we encourage you to consider upgrading your account to one of our paid memberships.

If you are not able to do so, we really do understand, and we are blessed to be able to bless you - and now without the restrictions of a 30-day trial membership!

Many Continued Blessings,

Beth M @blest ·

Not sure TODAY is the best day to announce this...
Guess people know you well enough to not suspect an April Fools joke!
 I think this is fabulous news; and I will continue to support this blessed ministry.
Thank you for all you do
blessings, blest

I love the idea of free membership returning, though I intent to continue to support this site financially for two reasons.
1 I believe in CB

2 A man is worthy of his pay.

Like Beth M (@Blest) and Joyce Bethy Ferguson (@Bethy), I love the idea of free membership returning though I fully intend to continue to support this site financially for the two reasons that Bethy mentions.

This was not an announcement I would have ever expected to see. I know it comes bittersweet at best. Blessings to the core who has been the backbone in words and finances for CB. May the days yet to come bring continued joy in fellowship.
