In a lead-up to a much anticipated feature that we will be announcing very soon we have released a small new feature for all members.
This new small feature will allow you to set a specific location within the ChristianBlog.Com website that you are automatically taken too each time you log into ChristianBlog.Com!
We are calling this the "Login Location Settings" feature and at the moment you can choose from the following locations to be automatically redirected too each time you log into the website:
(1) The home page (default and how things have always worked),
(2) Your personal profile (what you see if you click on the 'profile' at the top of the website),
(3) The 'add a new blog entry' page (for super fast access to publish a new blog entry),
(4) The 'Through The Bible' page (to help you make sure you stay committed to reading through the Bible each day),
(5) The 'Most Recent Blog Entries' page (for those who just want access to the most recent blog entries).
Here is a screenshot of how the settings page looks:
This feature can be accessed within your "Account" page.
(1) Log into ChristianBlog.Com
(2) Click on the "Account" at the top of the website.
(3) Click on the "Login Location Settings" under the "Manage Your" options.
(4) Select your location and press the update button.
(5) Then the next time you log into ChristianBlog.Com you should be directed to the location of your choice!
We invite our members to join the ChristianBlog.Com Feature Suggestions Group and post a suggestion should you have any suggestions for additional login locations.
I just checked the logs and here is the breakdown on how this feature is being used:
Your personal profile (9 people)
The 'add a new blog entry' page (0 people)
The 'Through The Bible' page (2 people)
The 'Most Recent Blog Entries' page (4 people)
Everybody else has decided to keep their login location at the default "home page" setting.
Rather interesting results.

I'm one of those people who go to my profile page. Not because I'm interested in me, of course  but because I find it is a much better way to keep track of things my friends have said or are feeling (a lot of them are starting to use updates). I quickly peruse my wall for their activity in regards to blogs, comments, prayers and updates before going to the home page.
I like using this wall feature because I think it more quickly alerts me to things such as prayer requests they may have. I've also noticed that if I rely solely on the home page, sometimes the blogs and comments of my friends, slip past me. I find I catch them easier on the wall.
I have to confess, I am one of those who tend to want to read things written by my friends first. They're my friends so of course I'm very interested in what they are doing and saying. Often I've discovered they've "just passed by" here at CB and I've been able to make a comment, send them a prayer or message, etc. which they've been able to receive within a few minutes because they're still logged on.
This is just a little commercial as to why I choose to go to my wall first rather than the homepage.
Yeah, I tend to agree with you k.
As more and more people become use to the "one liner" direction that facebook is going, and with facebook going in the direction of pretty much a single web page for your profile/account/etc, I think more and more people are going to begin to switch over to the Profile page on login.
For all the reasons you stated, is exactly why I use it too. Of course I still hit the "home page" to check out things, but for my sphere of friends, my profile page is the best way to stay up-to-date with what they are doing.
hmm, very intresting, I always log in on the home page because I didn't know we had an option. (I know I am slow but I am learning) mental note, I must ask someone like KK about this or even Poo.
anyway, I might play around with it to see which I like the most.
