Spending Money To Save Money

Greetings Christian Bloggers,

Towards the end of 2014 we posted a "5k Pledge Drive" where we were trying to raise $5,000 in order to help us off-set some bills. We were not able to reach that goal, though we got close to the 2k mark.

Most of you know that I (John Abela) have been paying thousands of dollars out of pocket each month to keep the website operational. The website brings in 2-3% of what it costs to keep the website going on a month-to-month basis, so it obviously costs me a LOT of money to keep the website going.

The consequences of not being able to raise those funds from the $5K drive are now starting to have an affect.

I am now at a point where I will no longer be able to continue many of the features that we offer here at CB. Over the weeks ahead a number of features that are offered will be removed, in an attempt to reduce the expenses that the CB website incurs.

Some of you may remember that a few years back, thanks to a lot of donations, we were able to buy a 'dedicated server' that resulted in the website becoming significantly faster. It has proven itself by keeping the website really fast. However, that has come at an insane monthly cost.

Over the last few months I have been attempting to find ways to reduce our expenses by, at minimum, 50% of what it costs to run the website each month. I have already taken a number of steps to make this happen, but it has only account for perhaps 5-8%, and that is just not enough.

Here recently I decided to spend some money to test a new method of hosting our website, one that will hopefully be significantly less expensive each month.

There is only one way to know if it will be, and that is to completely make the switch to this new method.

The thing is, and the main reason I am writing this announcement, is that this new method will likely not be able to handle some of the more intense parts of the website.

This includes: Media Drive, Dashboard/Stats, the chatroom, email notifications, the brand new Bible, and a few other features.

I know the chatroom is a big aspect of CB so I am going to try to get it to keep working, but if I cannot, I will likely have to find another method of having a chatroom, which might costsome money eachmonth.

At some point between now and the end of this month (March, 2015) most of the above mentioned features will be removed from the CB website.

Hopefully, if the new service goes well I can attempt to bring some of them back online in the months ahead.

At this point I am having to spend money for two different services, for a few months, in the hopes that in the long run I can do something about the bleeding red financial issues that I am facing.

If there are any Membership Plusbloggers that would like a partial refund over the next 30 days to compensate for the removal of these features (Advanced Blog Statistics, Blog Viewing History,Track Blog Activity Via Email) please contact us and we can issue a partial refund.

Thank you,
+John Abela

I for one will not require a partial refund, but I will miss the dashboard function.

I will miss some of those features as well but I also remember when we did not have them. Thank you for all the hard work that you do as well as the sacrifices that you make.

I will miss the feature's however I will not request any refund !

And I will be praying for the lord to increase the members lot tenfold and it's not because the feature but it is cause the love of sharing we all have here at CB ,I for one love this website because we have respect for one another and it is growing, that says a lot today because I have been to a few websites and they have no respect for others who wish to share in all honesty we could use a little more love though lord willing it will grow aswell, because I think we all here are serving the Lords communion as we begin to open up the doors of our hearts and share from our tables the things that the lord has for us all .

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you , meaning if I give love then I will expect to receive the same ,as I know it you reap what you sow .

I will never request a refund and only wish I had the means to keep the "dedicated server" for I remember what a HUGE deal that was a few years ago to get. It was perhaps the greatest outpouring of financial support I can remember on CB. I will be praying you find less expensive alternatives so you do not keep drowning in red ink yet can still provide the best that is available and affordable for us here at CB. Thank you for all the time and money you have devoted to this site and keeping it up and running for us to use to bless others. Until the Lord blesses me (if He does), I will continue supporting you and CB as I have for all these years.

I don't think anyone would request a refund. ..I certainly hope not! I do not think a anyone gives to get those features. Of course I hope you can keep the chat room, but I understandyour hands are tied financially. I just wish we could help more.
Thank you and God bless you back, for all you Do.

Continuing to pray for Gods wisdom and grace upon CB decision makers for we will not be overwhelmed, those who walk after the Lord and live in his light.

I have not posted a blog this year so far. Dealing with being a co caregiver with my wife. Not asking for a refund or closing off my account. God didnt put that on my heart. This ministry will always be in my prayers. Even if i'm behind the scenes/ Curtains/ Balcony. Hope to" find the time to write soon, along with my baking. Be blessed
