From childhood till today we have taken so many medications, just to list down a few I have taken flu, cold, cough, infection, vitamin deficiency, iron deficiency, calcium, antibiotics etc., Though I have taken these medications, but I have never been felt happy about taking the medication, I have alway been filled with hatred for my sickness, hatred for my weakness, hatred for the situation of helplessness. I did not have the wisdom to think, what this medicine is going to do to me. It is going to correct the mistakes I did, I have been missing out on my diet somewhere, or I have not been taking the proper precautions for keeping my immunity. But still irrespective of whether I really understand what the medicine is going to do to me or I hold any value or attention to medicine, the medicine does it duty. It puts me to deep sleep and it fights all the sicknesses in my body.
Christian life is like the medication to many of us. Irrespective of the fact, whether you realize what it means or you really value what it is doing to your life, it keeps serving its Purpose. Do people really understand Baptism or Communion or the Work of the Holy Spirit in their life? Even if people don't understand the promises and words keep working in theirl ives.
Matthew 9:20-22Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed. Jesus turned and saw her. Take heart, daughter, he said, your faith has healed you. And the woman was healed at that moment.
There are some people who really take time to read about what the medicine does, and there are people who just go by the prescription of the doctor, either ways the medicine works. Many people go with what the priests say, and they don't spend time to get into personal understanding of the facts and truth. But in Christian life, it really makes a lot of difference in understanding the meaning and the true value of Baptism, Communion, receiving the Holy Spirit andother services. It is required we spend some time to really get the wisdom and knowledge to understand what all it does in our lives, so that we can be Humble and Thanksgiving to the Lord. We can taste the goodness and be filled with the joy of the Lord.
When we remember our Baptism, we understand what it means to us?
Romans 6:4-11We were therefore buried with him through baptism into deathin order that, just as Christ was raised from the deadthrough the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
Every time we bow down before the cross, we remember what His sacrifice has done in our life. How it has transformed us?
Hebrews 9:12Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption
Colossians 1:20and through him to reconcileto himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven,by making peacethrough his blood, shed on the cross
Every time we receive the communion we remember, the life it brings into us.
John 6:53-58Jesus said to them, Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the fleshof the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.Just as the living Father sent meand I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.
1 Corinthians 11:27-31 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink [this] cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. Everyone ought to examine themselvesbefore they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves. That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. But if we were more discerning with regard to ourselves, we would not come under such judgment.
