Before I came into Christ and started to follow Him, the feeling of being right or wrong, being good or bad, being gifted or punished, used to dominate my thoughts and my decision process. But now after being in Christ, and after getting the deeper understanding of His sacrifice and His love for us, I get the realization, that a person being good and bad is so dynamic, and not static.
Isaiah 59:20 The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins, declares the Lord.
Luke 5:32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Luke 24:45-47 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Most of us (everyone) leads a sinful life till we come to know Christ. Till baptism we were all being categoriezed into the bucket of being unrighteous. But after we got bapitized we are all cleansed by the blood of the lamb. Now we were all moved to the Bucket of Righteous or Good thorough the blood of the Lamb. Now, assume one person from the bucket of righteous, commits a sin, so now immediatly he gets moved to the bucket of unrighteous, but again he repents and confesses his sins and reconciles with the Lord, now againhe is moved to the bucket of righteous. These buckets are so dynamic, the group of people in my bucket may or may not be the same people tomorrow, there may be additions or deletions. It all depends on what and where people choose to be. Given this uncertainity in my bucket, and my friends and in this life. Holy Spirit is my only companion, I cannot trust my own wisdom but to go with the Holy Spirit. The information in my wisdom, might be outdated, Holy Spirit only has the latest information on who is good and who is bad.
Luke 15:7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
Galatians 6:1 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.
Hebrews 3:12 See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
Personally, I feel such an oscillation is good for us. It will hinder or nearness to God and getting deeper into relationship with the Lord and stop us from tatsting the goodness of the Lord. Christ called us to be perfect, he did not want us to stop with just being good. Initially I used to feel it so difficult to handle this oscillatons, but then through Christ, and Holy Spirit,I learnt to be still and wait for all these oscillations to stop so that I can clearly see where (which bucket) people are stabilizing. Are they growing up in the ways of Christ and are they perfecting themselves in Christ (or) Are they still in their worldly ways? But yes, wait for the final judgement from the Lord, the person might choose to reconcile during his last breath also. Shepherd knows His sheep and goat, and not me. It is totally His Love that makes me what I am and what we are.
1 John 5:16 If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that.
