(NIV) James 1:19My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.
It is the action and not the reason that counts.. a fight with a friend is still a fight.. and a love for an enemy is still love..
There are many people who hold on to the reasons to justify their actions. Some people get angry and they justify that anger to be with a noble cause. Some people argue and fight with their friends but still try to justify that it is a part of friendship. People don't realize it is not the reason but the action that counts. If we are fighting, not matter with whom, no matter what is the reason, it is still a fight. The same with the with love and care. It does not matter who we love and why we love, it the act of love and care that counts rather than the reason behind it.
Reasons should not be the driving factors behind the emotions, but instead our faith and our values that should be the driving factors behind our emotions. Our intellect (reasoning mind) can say that you should fight for it. But it should be overridden by the faith and the value which we hold to ensure that we are submissive, polite and humble.
