Micah 7:8 Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.
It is a wierd way to start my this year with the Blog "My enemy is inside me". Many of us miss to realize that we are born with the enemy inside us. Till the point we know Christ and start following Him, we are directed by the enemy. Any image other than Jesus Christ is the enemy. The image can be non-existence of God (abyss), idol, self, materialism, image of any human. Till we reach the stage in life where we are in harmony with the image of Christ, enemy gets the oppurunity to lead us.
Psalm 13:2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Even now, I know there are times and situations when I waver from my faith and my enemy gets the opurtunity to tire me with his doubts and fearful visions. But onething that I am happy about is the realization of the presence of the enemy who disrupts my Peace and visions. And my decision to surrender and reconcile with the Lord to ensure that the Peace and Hamony is restored is good.
Psalm 51:10-12Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
But to be in constant and steady Peace it is really required that we be reconciled with the Lord and be restored in the Spirit of the Lord. Once someone is in the Lord, it is better that He or She tries not to let go the image of Christ, does not open the doors for some false preacher to set the wrong image of Christ. Given this generation, it is so important that everyone reads the Bible and the Gospels to know the Lord personally and have a strong image of Christ, so that our mind is able to immediately block or fight the wrong doctrines / preachings. I heard a preaching where someone was linking the verses from the old testament and the new testament, saying that God will make us bear fruits (materialistic as He gave for Abraham). What was preached is logically right, but it not the intent or the message of the Gospel or the teaching of Christ.
1 Peter 5:8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
James 4:4 You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
Psalm 42:9 I say to God my Rock, Why have you forgotten me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy?
It is not about letting in the enemy, (he is already there), it is about overcoming the enemy with the Power of the Cross. It is like it cannot be empty - either the Lord or the Enemy. For a fraction if second you turn away to look at something other than the image of Lord, enemy is already there. Be United with Christ always.
Luke 10:19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
Psalm 31:8 You have not given me into the hands of the enemy but have set my feet in a spacious place.
