One of my collegues who is going through some difficult phase in his personal life, was telling me "When some incidents (accidents) happen in life then this mind keeps going into thoughts and depression". In life we face accidents which happens suddenly, unexpectedly and changes our life. There is no reason or anyone responsible or any human who has control over such accidents. Most times we feel just one chance to take away that incident or that moment from life, my life would have been much better. Jesus through His cross has given us the chance to recover from the losses of accidents and to be complete and perfect again.
John 9:1-3 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind? Neither this man nor his parents sinned, said Jesus, but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.
An accident can be Materialistic, Physical, Mental or Spiritual. It can come from any source like a loss in business, car accident, or a failed marriage or problem parents or wrong faith. They all leave something in common - a mark. It can be a broken car or a injured hand or a depressed heart or a lonely soul. There is no human being who has never faced any accident in his or her life. This is something that is common to all. But what makes the difference if our faith and the Healing in Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
There was onething which always kept bothering me - which was when someone goes through breakup in the marriage life, later if he or she gets married again, as per Luke 16:18 it is adultery. I asked Jesus, as I respect the words that He taught, how will this work? His reply to me was, "When such a person comes to Him. He Himself is standing as the Groom, and He is the one who accepts that woman as His own and He has been on the cross for the sanctification of Her."
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Though I know practically it is not an easy task to comeout of the damages caused by accidents. The pains are too much and they sometimes seem as though they are beyond our capacity. But still looking at Jesus and at the pains He went through for us on the cross, gives us termendous energy to try to get back and start living. Though we need to understand I am not the same old me, I have changed now because if the accident, there is a message, a growth in faith and a wisdom which has been added to us through His grace. We need to hold on to that and keep moving, so that the scar keeps loosing its importance and impression. How to Heal and when to Heal is with Him but our duty is to Hope and pray to Him.
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
When I look at Bible closely and put my trust in the word of God, my interpretation is when people are in close contact with God things become the plan of God, but when people are moving away from God it becomes an incident. As God's people Jesus Christ wants us to be safe from incidents and walk in the plan of God.
Numbers 31:16 They were the ones who followed Balaam's advice and enticed the Israelites to be unfaithful to the Lord in the Peor incident, so that a plague struck the Lord's people.
Numbers 25:18 They treated you as enemies when they deceived you in the Peor incident involving their sister Kozbi, the daughter of a Midianite leader, the woman who was killed when the plague came as a result of that incident.
