At home, I saw a print out of a puzzle "Dog Search", my sister had given a test print out of it and she left it there. I took it and i searched for the word "Dog" for 5 minutes, then I thought may be this does not contain the word "Dog" in it, it might be just a prank and I don't want to waste time on it. So I kept it aside and I started working on some other thing. Sometime later my sister called, and I asked her if the puzzle really has a "Dog" word in it. She said yes and that she had solved it. I told her okay fine, I will also solve it. It took me another 5 minutes to solve the puzzle and find the "Dog" word.
The point here is we don't want to invest time on something which we think might not exist.
Jesus came down and showed the Hidden path to Heaven.
Without knowing Jesus - though the path to Heaven might be somewhere hidden inside me. I would never bother to find it, because I would think I have much better things to do than this. What if it is not there and I am just spending time on exploring something that does not exist.
Jesus came to show us the way to Heaven. It is not that we don't have the ability to find it. God created us in His own Image, so we know the path to Heaven. But due to our sinful nature the path to Heaven is hidden from us. Without the Love of God, the Joy, Love and Peace are hidden from us.
Without Jesus it is like a community of people who are lost their Home, building a home "united by being lost", which keep breaking. It is like trying to build something with the desert sand.
Jesus, had the path to Heaven visible in Him. So He walked on this earth showing us the path to Heaven and He became the path to Heaven. By His Love and Grace He made us sinless and taking us to His nature and making the path to Heaven visible to us.
Though Jesus came down to earth, but He went back to Heaven because -- He wants us to be in Heaven. If He is in earth, we will be happy with it, we will not bother to rise up to Heaven.
We can do it, just have to believe that it is there.
John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Jesus, who is Sinless "Image of God"
This is not a description I would use as the Bible does not describe Jesus as such. The term 'image of God; is used of Adam and his children. Jesus was God, rather than a image.
