When you have Authority.. you don't have to Wrestle..

When I meditate on the Gospel and the power Name of Jesus, I used to wonder how the Apostles and Saints manage to drive away the Evil one with a couple of words. But I see people around me usually sitting and praying and crying to the Lord to get away from the evil one. But still it feels as though the evil one still remains in its place, sometimes it goes away temporarily and then seems to return. People seem to be wrestling hard to let go the evil one. I am sometime wonder if people are holding the evil one or if the evil one is holding them. I guess it is mutual. Anyways, my focus is on the Apostle and saint who drive away the evil one with a word in the name of Jesus.

Mark 6:7 Calling the Twelve to him, he began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over impure spirits.

Luke 10:19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

During one of my personal reading time, I realized that when I have Authority I don't really have to Fight. Fight is with the enemy, Evil one is the enemy to mankind, he wants to destroy them. And as Humans we fight with the Evil one. But what Jesus gave us is the Authority. Authority comes over the people who are under you and listen to you. When aKing has Authority over his people, he does not have to fight with them. Having authority means people listen to what he says. It comes with the position he has. Same with the master and the slave. Master has authority over the slave, the slave knows that he has to listen, obey and carryout the instructions from the master.

Isaiah 22:21-24I will clothe him with your robe and fasten your sasharound him and hand your authorityover to him. He will be a father to those who live in Jerusalem and to the people of Judah.I will place on his shoulderthe keyto the house of David;what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. I will drive him like a peginto a firm place;he will become a seat of honor for the house of his father. All the glory of his family will hang on him: its offspring and offshoots - all its lesser vessels, from the bowls to all the jars.

John 17:2 For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him.

Jesus has given us Authority over the Evil one. He has given us the Authority to Forgive, Heal and to deliver people. He does not ask us to fight with them, argue with them. Like How He had the Authority to challenge the Pharisees and to drive out the demons. He expects us to have the Authority in His Name. He expects us to command through the Authority that has been given to us in the name of Jesus. Through the name of Jesus, evil one is no more an equal to us, but he is a slave to us, who obeys our commands in the name of Jesus. If he does not then he will have to face the consequences of challenging the Authority of Jesus. His very existence will be challenged by Lord. So He will obey the orders and commands in the name of Jesus, as Jesus has Victory over the evil one.

Revelations 2:26-28 To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations - that one 'will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery' - just as I have received authority from my Father. I will also give that one the morning star.

1 Corinthians 15:24-26 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

Good points but you must not ignore Eph 6:12 - when we write blogs we must take into account all of scripture otherwise we are presenting half truths and fooling ourselves. It is easy to slip but we must rightly divide the word.
