Only In The Power Of His Love

The past three weeks consisted of significant struggles mentally, physically, and relationally. Knowing others in the CB family were facing grave circumstances and crushing grief. With good intentions, I continued making adjustments to medication and in prayer alone. My concern was not "bothering" others facing extreme difficulty and grief or sounding like a "broken" record (if you remember the "old" 45 and 33 RPM's with a scratch :).

After nearly three weeks, tears in eyes and deep groans of pain an S.O.S. signal was sent. Two or three now alerted with Christ in the midst working in manner restricted remaining "solo". Each springing to action as God now worked through them. In one day spiritual, emotional, and physical relief began. The next few days consisted of instruction from God over delaying for a week and a half after prompting to seek prayer from specific people.

  • During the wait and attempting to push through on my own, the Lord gathered me in His arms to carry. Tender reassurance from the Lord.

Isa. 63: 9 - "In all their affliction He was afflicted, And the angel of His presence saved them; In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them, And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old." (NASB)

  • Not asking for prayer earlier allowed others to be "robbed" of a blessing God wanted to impart to their lives. Participating in Him blessing others and as His redeemed in Christ. Also, I do not know what other blessing God plans for their lives in obedient love placing others first. Rebuke received from the Lord.

  • A specific example God highlighted. If asked to pray for another while experiencing great turmoil, placing the needs of others above mine and interceding bring relief in heart and spirit. Whether momentarily "forgetting" while beseeching God our Savior on behalf of a brother. Or the beginning of Him working situation faced to resolution is not known by me. (Phil. 2 and Christ's example John 17).

  • The Spirit illuminated the need of continued work of greater depth in addressing relational hurt. Some still rooted five decades old in childhood. God again revealed He has the highest commitment to completing the good work in me or the most earnest believer .

Psa. 147: 3 - "He heals the brokenhearted, And binds up their wounds." (NASB)

  • The most emphasized item God addressed of the 3 weeks? Nothing will stand even after we choose; if not done, motivated, or enabled in the power of His love.

The Lord brought to mind His work throughout the scriptures. Why did he free the children of Israel from Egypt? Because of the power of His love ... Why did God lead in the wilderness with His very Presence though continually encountering rebellion? Because of the power of His love ... Remaining at enmity with God why did Christ die for our sin and provide the Way back to The Father? Because of the power of His love ...

Rom 5:8 - "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (NASB)

As the Lord continued for the majority of the day resting this message on my heart, the importance to Him is crystal clear. Thoughts turned to fear of the Lord. Fear may motivate even causing a quick start. However holding to completion will fall short. God took me to the passage of Luke 16, 'The Rich Man and Lazarus'.

Luke 16: 30, 31 - " But he said, 'No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!' But he said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.'" (NASB)

Whether discipline, righteousness, suffering as our Lord, holiness, etc. After choice is made to pursue growth in any area, a continued heart motivation exam by the Lord must occur. Not continuing in the power of His love becomes a descent into legalistic pursuit and bondage. My own experiences of times past reminded as lessons of the crushing burden.

I Cor. 16: 14 - "Let all that you do be done in love." (NASB)

In the New Testament our Lord commands setting aside anger, wrath, malice, greed, idolatry, etc. why? Is this to place us under a new set of law? No, to show Christ conquered death forever living, loving, and inviting all mankind to know God through Him. All calls placed on my life point to walking in His Spirit and not in the flesh. Yes, even the "beating" and driving to submission spirit, soul, and body. Only realized and sustained in the power of His Love.

I Cor. 13:13 - "But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love." (NASB)

My prayer for you and me is to know the Love of God in Christ surpassing all understanding. To be filled by HIs fullness. Walking in the "law of love", God shall bring forth as the dawning of a new day beauty, blessing, and work beyond compare in your life and others through Christ working out of obendient lives in you.

Because of Who He is we give all glory, honor, power, and praise to the Lord Almighty through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

For I am persuaded ... ... . nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus my Lord. Romans 8:38-39. Good article of personal experience.

Wonderful truths that God communicates to as, but only as we are obedient to him, even if this means a period of suffering, for often it is through the path of troubled waters that we are only ready to hold onto and understand such deep truths.
