Scripture clearly states life eternal is to know the One true God and Jesus Christ Whom He sent. Any good thing provided in our lives above knowing God more intimately is merely granted blessing above and beyond. Thinking, if God did not promise to take away all pain, tears, and suffering in life eternal. Would we want to live with a thorn or thorns forever being in the presence of Jesus?
Pondering this thought one day, my answer became 'No, to not exist at all with continued suffering would be better and more compassionate.' Immediately the condition of heart was exposed and the Holy Spirit bore a searing beam of light on a selfish heart.
Do I want eternal life to love and be with Jesus forever in a more intimate manner than ever? Or life eternal with Jesus minus the hard, grinding, faith building, enemy crushing pursuit of seeking Jesus and loving Him alone?
The Lord Jesus Christ must be my supreme desire regardless of any benefits given or not. He is worthy of all praise and worship no matter what.
Why does Christ give new bodies once in heaven? Not to lose infirmities and afflictions of earth. Rather to provide the ability for a more deep and close communion. On earth, our mind, will, emotions, and flesh interfere with the daily communication. With Him there will be none.
The Holy Spirit has one purpose with this blog. Ensure a clean heart in coming to Jesus and asking it be made clean when really want to just stop struggling with thorns. If any others need help and prayer in this area too … be encouraged, He has us covered.
John 17:3 - Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (NIV)

"The Lord Jesus Christ must be my supreme desire regardless of any benefits given or not. He is worthy of all praise and worship no matter what."
This is a great truth but difficult to comprehend and assimilate, let alone live by, but with the strength of the Holy Spirit we are victorious
Kinda brings that line - we love Him because He loved us first - into focus.
