Today i saw a video in England

Today I saw the disturbing video in England. A guy with bloody hands holding weapons was quoting the Old Testament, "Eye for an Eye tooth for a tooth" he said. Oh how i wish that he knew there was a New Testament, Jesus said (Matthew 5:38) “You have heard the law that says the punishment must match the injury: ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. 39) But I say, do not resist an evil person! If someone slaps you on the right cheek, offer the other cheek also. 40) If you are sued in court and your shirt is taken from you, give your coat, too. 41) If a soldier demands that you carry his gear for a mile, carry it two miles. 42) Give to those who ask, and don’t turn away from those who want to borrow. 43) “You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. 44) But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! 45) In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. 46) If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. 47) If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. 48 But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. "BUT I SAY" Jesus doesn't say what we tend to say. We seek Justice, He shows grace. We want revenge, he shows mercy, what if we lived like he said to live? What kind of impact could that have on this troubled broken world? I have pondered this through the night. So many people have a Bible in one hand and a gun in the other. We declare we must fight for our rights to bear arms when Jesus plainly states Matthew 26:52 "live by the sword, die by the sword" Mark 8:35 "If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it." What if we were willing to die for what we believe rather than kill for it? How would the world change if we Christians actually lived as Christ and would lay down our lives for our brothers? Not die fighting, but walk silently to our deaths sacrificing our lives so that others may know the truth? We consider ourselves persecuted if we are not supported in the media, while others are risking all that they have including their very lives just to share the good news. Shame on us. We suffer so little and complain so much. There was another thing that caught my attention in the video. The man said that it was a war, the woman videoing said "You will not win". I so loved that part. Satan will one day be defeated once and for all! There will be an end to all wars waged by our true enemy. "You will not win"! We know we do not have to fight to win, the battle is already won, the grave is defeated, we have victory in JESUS! Ephesians 6:17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

The most awful part about this young man is that he was brought up in a bible believing christian home. I too loved the words of the woman who said that he would not win.

We don't need to wrry about winning, for as you say, the battle and the war is alredy won for us through the Cross.

I hadn't heard that about being brought up in a christian home. I only saw a clip of the video. I try to avoid news as much as possible. It is usually all bad news.
