On the wall closest to where I sit at the computer there is a photo gallery of my family. Although I enjoy looking at all of them, there is one photograph that my eyes are drawn to every time I look in that direction. It is a photograph of my granddaughter the day I introduced her to painting. About ten seconds after walking in the door my grandson was asking to paint and having no paper ready, the glass on the door seemed an ideal solution. For Danica, the mystery was about to unfold, and to be able to capture the moment is one for my treasure box of memories. The early childhood teacher in me could spout out all sorts of things that Danica was learning from the experience but God’s voice would drown mine out. What I see through God’s eyes is wonderment at watching life unfold in an unexpected yet beautiful way. God reminds me that this is the way I should be looking at my life. Instead of seeing problems, I need to be looking at what God is doing in my life. Looking with excitement and anticipation for God to move in my circumstances brings with it a peace that only God can give.
I love your blogs. What you say is so true. We do need to be looking at what God is doing in our lives. We need to be looking with excitement and anticipation, with our eyes eagerly fastened on God... what is He going to do next?
P.S. The next time you see Danica, give her a great big hug and kiss from her Auntie K.
I need to be looking at what God is doing in my life
I think that if and when we do look at what he is doing, we may be pleasantly surprised at times.
Unfortunately some of us ( ie me) keep our eyes tight shut at times.
I love it, Kbird! I just don't understand why we refuse to trust our God the same way our children and grandchildren trust us.
Just plain stubborn, I guess. Thanks for sharing the wonderful photo and your thoughts!
Out of the mouths of babes... through the eyes of babes... we can learn much from children... a simple yet brilliant blog, Kbird ~ thank you!
We would do well to look AND see the way an innocent child does. Lovely photo, capturing the moment perfectly! blessings, blest
