Moving past denial.
I recently read two really well written blogs. “Thinking on bravery” and “Facing Giants”. Reading one lead me to the other. Before we think about facing giants, we are in denial. When we stop denying, we then are left facing the giant. He, she, it, them are overwhelming. It’s like looking at a Levantine, the large sea creature mentioned in the Bible. Others many times see me as brave. I know I am not. They don’t see the monsters living in the past, hiding in the background. We can even ignore the monster for years. It seems to me the older we become, the harder it is to ignore the past. The hurts, the disappointments and the pain.
We then must look for and seek the bravery we need to face it. Where do we find that strength? There is only one place. My strength must come from and through Him. On my own, I am weak, I am a coward and I am filled with fear. My strength must come from outside myself, in Christ.
