River of life

River of life 10/1/12 Life it seems is flowing like a river Always moving and going downstream Sometimes the stream is like rapids Dangerous treacherous and frightening Or is it just a dream? Other times it flows so smooth and quiet We stop being aware of the danger there We often come to a quiet spot No motion or movement everything stops Sometimes we relax enjoying the view All is wonderful beautiful and bright The seasons come the seasons go Beauty and splendor wonder and joy We float along on the river of life Sometimes trying to swim upstream We struggle and fight against the flow Exhausted we relax and just drift along Then the river becomes wide and shallow Chrystal clear water sparkling like diamonds Then all at once it’s narrow and dark Smelly slimy dirty murky and deep We come out into the sun only to be lost again We long to go back to where we had been It’s life on a steady continuing flow With rapids waterfalls rocks and turns We fall over the falls and almost drown But we recover though we’ve lost ground Life’s river seems to spin out of control We become frightened and frozen with fear The end of our life we suddenly see More days lived than yet to be So little time and so much pain So little sunshine and so much rain The clouds block the sun and darkness comes Death seems like a not so distance drum After the darkness we’ll be in the light A light called Jesus the everlasting Son The river of life can end so quickly Sending us suddenly to a sea called death Death to the body at the end of the stream But the life hereafter is called eternity And it’s not a dream Many people believe we who believe in eternity and Jesus live in a dream world. We do not. John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble! I have overcome the world” A promise from our LORD! KraftyKatz :coffee:

I really really like this Katz.

Not only is it beautiful to read, it is filled with the truths of life.

Wonderful poem and analogy. Is this your writing? If so, you are very talented.
