When I saw the Bible verse for today, I knew I must post this newest poem, Shadow of Wings. Some of my favorite verses are in reference to being under or in the shadow of God’s wings. I like the KJV with the word under rather then in the shadow. It reminds of the baby chicks that would hide under their mother’s wings, completely out of sight from the world, hidden and protected. That is how I like to see myself at times, hidden under His wings, safe and protected. Shadow of Wings Taking refuge under the shadow of wings In this loving place of refuge, my heart sings Oh what a wondrous and beautiful place Basking in shelter I can feel His embrace It is a safe place, hidden from the view Where my soul can be refreshed anew An army of angles all guarding my soul For God is always in complete control In this ugly world I need to be strong For it’s not here that I truly belong We are travelers in this dangerous place For our daily life we need His grace For my soul is meant for eternity To this shelter of wings I gladly flee There’s no place on earth I would rather be Then under His shadow safe and free Psalm 61:4 NIV I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. Psalm 63:7 NIV Because You are my help, I sing in the shadow of Your wings. Psalm 17:8 KJV Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of they wings. It is always my prayer that my poetry be a blessing for those who read them. Be blessed today. KraftyKatz :coffee:

So very beautiful! Every line, especially the four above! Thank you for sharing this wonderful blessing.
Beautiful poem and such a lovely mental picture to dwell on! I remember the story once of a shed or something that burned down and there under a dead chicken were her babies...nice to know that He will never leave us and that no matter the danger we are safe in the shelter of HIS wings. Thanks for the reminder and the lovely blog/verses!
