A Heart Of Praise And Thanksgiving

In a few hours, I am going to be attending my son's college graduation. At this time next Saturday, I will be preparing to go to his wedding. When you consider that I was diagnosed with breast cancer just a few months after my son met his bride-to-be and was released from the hospital after suffering a ruptured brain aneurysm exactly five months ago today, it is amazing that I am even here to witness these events!

Ephesians 5:20 says:

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
As I reflect upon what God has brought me through, not just over the past two and a half years but all the days of my life.

From the archives of my mind, this song has been running through my head all morning. It is an old Petra song but I am an old Petra fan so I can be excused! Oh, and if you are a woman, feel free to substitute the word :princess:! 😉

Words by Bob Hartman and Dino Elefante Music by John Elefante

I have a thankful heart that you have given me
And it can only come from you

There is no way to begin to tell you how I feel
There are no words to express how you've become so real
Jesus, you've given me so much I can't repay
I have no offering

There is no way to begin to tell you how I feel
There's nothing more I can say and no way to repay
Your warming touch that melts my heart of stone
Your steadfast love - I'll never be alone

I have a thankful heart that you have given me
And it can only come from you
I have a thankful heart; words don't come easily
But I am sure you can see my thankful heart

Help me be a man of God
A man who's after Your own heart
Help me show my gratitude
And keep in me a thankful heart

Blessings!
