As we face the upcoming year, people experience a variety of emotions. Some view the new year with anticipation while others view it with dread. What will the future hold for us? That's a question humanity has been trying to find out since almost the beginning of time. God, in His wisdom, rarely lets us know what the future holds for us as individuals. In many respects, knowing the future would not be a good thing for us to know.
It is so easy to get overwhelmed and discouraged by our circumstances or the circumstances of those whom we love. It is easy to get discouraged when your body refuses to behave, your eyes don't see like they used to, you don't move like you used to and so on. There are days when we want to stick our head under the blanket and just howl; "God, what are you doing to me?"
It is during those times of frustration, pain, fear and despair when we must remember that we serve the God of Hope. Even before God uttered the curse upon humanity, He declared our Hope which is Jesus Christ. He never left us adrift without The Promise.
A few weeks ago, I posted this verse on my computer. I wanted the words to burn deeply into my heart as I want to practice it continually. I pray these words will burn in your hearts as well.
But as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more! (NLT)Psalm 71:14
As the new year fast approaches, I want to share my new year's wish for everyone at Christianblog.com:
