In October 2007, while attending a Women of Faith conference, I saw a sketch done my Nicole Johnson called "Stepping Into The Ring" which deals with a woman learning that she has breast cancer. Little did I know at the time that I had that monster growing within me. I would not know about it until about six weeks later.
While I was in treatment, a woman on the Komen cancer boards shared this video and I can tell you, it is amazingly accurate in regards to the feelings and emotions a woman has when she learns she has cancer.
These thoughts and emotions are not exclusive to cancer, however. There are times in our lives when we feel like we are standing in a boxing ring "in our pajamas", stunned and overwhelmed. We want to curl up and hide. We want to quietly creep out of the ring and slink off to where nothing will ever bother us again. There is no place like that in this world.
As Christians we must remember that neither cancer nor any other kind of "junk" does not have us. God has us regardless of what we face. God has us... and we are safe.
Amen and amen. God has us, large or small, from here or there. He has us completely. May we surrender to Him as He has us all.
Thanks for sharing , Sister K

Phew! That is some heavy stuff. It makes me ask myself, "Now just who has you?"
Aah! I finally got to see what you have been talking about! Brilliant stuff!TT
