"I want it and I want it now!" As someone who taught young children for more than 20 years, I came face to face with this sort of attitude on a daily basis. Children are not generally very shy about making their wants known. From day one, they typically let us know exactly what they want or need and if it is not granted immediately well... enough said.
As parents we recognize that we cannot always give our children what they want. We are wiser than they are and recognize that while they might want to consume two pounds of exquisite chocolate before dinner, they must not do so. In fact, if we allow them to do so, they will eventually suffer rather unpleasant consequences. We know what they need, when they need it and a good parent acts accordingly.
When a child receives everything they desire exactly when they desire it, we have a name for them in English. We called them "spoiled" and indeed they are. God never spoils His children.
Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. (New Living Translation)- Psalm 27:14
As impatient as we must be at times, we must always remember that God knows best. We must patiently wait on Him and when we do so, we must not waver. God is faithful. He will never forsake us.
Wait, be patient, be brave, be courage and wait patiently for the Lord.
