I joined CB four years ago today on July 29, 2007. At the time, I did not realize the role it would play in my life. I really didn't. Like a lot of people, I stumbled upon the site when I was looking for a good place to blog, a place that had an emphasis on Christ.

I poked about the site a bit (it was much smaller back then), liked what I saw and decided to become a member. Actually, within a few days, I decided to become what was then known as a "premier member" (pledge partner) and also made an additional donation to the site for I felt it was something I'd like to support.

I didn't write my first blog for nearly a week. Then, I wrote thirteen blogs during the month of August and four in September. By mid-September, however, I was pretty busy with school and all as I was teaching second grade at the time. I'd pop in now and then but didn't write another blog until mid-November of 2007. Then... my life was turned upside down when on December 3, 2007, I learned that a suspicious mass in my left breast had been detected.

I found myself back here at CB, reading and praying. On December 7, 2007, I wrote the first of what I call my "cancer blogs". It was written on December 7, 2007 and is entitled Being In God's Hand As It Passes Through Cancer?

Four years ago, I could have never foreseen the amazing journey God was about to take me on. No, I had no idea of the deadly horror that was lurking inside me. Actually, I had two "deadly horrors" silently lurking inside me. I had a malignant tumor and... a cerebral aneurysm which later ruptured in December 2009. They tell me I was probably born with it so undoubtedly that was there as well. I did not know about these things when I joined CB but God did and He knew that I would need this place and people here whom I have met... and I did.

As I am writing this blog, I am not just reflecting upon the blogs I've written although I have written... a few.
Actually, ironically this blog marks my 1,100th blog and I've discovered that those blogs have been viewed nearly half a million times. It makes you stop and think doesn't it. The words we write are often viewed not only by the members of CB but they are viewed by others around the world.

CB is indeed first and foremost a blogging site but it is more, oh so much more to me! To me it is a gathering place of friends. It is a place to share what is in your heart. It is a place for tears and a place for laughter and singing. It is a blessed place because it is a place where God's children can come together and we know that where two or three are gathered in His name... He is there in their midst. So CB is a place where God not only is... it is a place where He is welcome!

It is my prayer, my friends, that we never, never give up! No matter how dark and hard the path may be, let us always remember that God turns our darkness into light (Psalm 18:28) and that this light affliction is but for a moment... just one brief moment in time!

That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NLT)

Let us always remember...

The very best is yet to be!

Congratulations on both milestones reached today. I honestly do not know which is more of an accomplishment--4 years or 1,100 blogs but both are incredible examples of faithfulness and perseverance.

From one "old timer" to another, THANK YOU for all you have done and continue to do for this site which in both of our cases helped us through some of the darkest times of our lives and allowed us to become very good friends.

When I think of how since coming to this site I was diagnosed with and went through breast cancer treatment as well as had a brain bleed and a stroke, I find it truly amazing that I have done either.

When I think about YOU and what you have experienced during your time here, I have to stand back and say that what you have accomplished as well is truly amazing.

One of the blessings God has given me during these often "dark" years has been the precious gift of friendship with people around the world... including you, your wife @Beth M+ (@blest) and of course, Sheeeeeeba!

Elizabeth Fox (@whobelieve)

You write of how this site has been a blessing to you, I think of how you have been a blessing to me. Great blog k ~wb

K Reynolds+ (@kreynolds)

Oh thank you, WB! You have been such a blessing to me as well and I have been so glad to have been able to catch up with you again!

Thanks for being apart of this wonderful website for the last four years!

The website is what it is today because of faithful Christians such as yourself!

K Reynolds+ (@kreynolds)

Aw... John!

Little did you know what awaited you the night this K blew into CB four years ago nor do you know the times I feared I would find a sign nailed to the door saying:

Thank you for your patience and understanding over the past four years.

I will be eternally grateful to you for starting up CB and faithfully maintaining it through the good times and the rough times as well.

Yes, we can never know that a simple act that we do can bless someone somewhere sometime. That's what this blogsite does to many all over the world.

In fact, I find out that writing down my thoughts are so much better than expressing them and blogging also records our thoughts, our dreams and our hopes.

Glad that your journey here help you through your difficult times, surely it will help you just as much if not evern more in the future.

Congrats on your fourth year here!

Thanks for sharing about your journey and also for your interest for this blogsite, Sister K

Blessings always

Over the past few years, I have taken time to revisit the blogs written during cancer treatment as well as the comments and prayers written by others when I was in intensive care as well as things I blogs I wrote as I was recovering from my brain bleed and stroke. Seeing the words on the screen written long ago reminds me of what God has brought me through and of His faithfulness.

I've had the privilege of actually having a couple of people join CB because they wanted to be able to comment and let me know that they were either watching someone they loved battle cancer or someone they loved had just passed away. They wanted to let me know that the words they read had blessed and strengthened them. One woman printed up my "cancer blogs" and read them to her friend who was undergoing cancer treatment.

Thank you for your continued faithfulness here on CB and the blessing you have been to myself and others on this site!

It has just occurred to me... ..if you had not come here four years ago we would never have discovered that we are twins!

K Reynolds+ (@kreynolds)

That is true, TT !
That would have been catastrophic!
