In the book Our Ultimate Refuge formerly titled Baffled To Fight Better, Oswald Chambers says:
It is a good thing to feel our own powerlessness in the face of destruction; it makes us know how much we depend upon God. I believe those words with all of my heart!
In my own life I have discovered that when I become reconciled to the fact that I am indeed powerless and am in fact totally dependent upon God, amazing things begin to happen. Oh, the circumstances themselves might remain the same... for the moment. However, an amazing change takes place within me.
Fear and frustration are vanquished. They are replaced with peace and patience. My focus is no longer upon my circumstances; it is upon God. Isn't that where it belongs? The turmoil within my heart turns to a song of praise for I have cast myself into His hands and discovered, He has caught me. Yes, He has caught me and regardless of my circumstances... I am in His hands and therefore, I am safe.
In the face of adversity, we are too quick to start pointing fingers. We cry out against God, accusing Him of abandoning us or we blame others or even ourselves. Could it be that God is simply teaching us and those around us to learn that we can depend upon and trust Him?
Regardless of the circumstances you find yourself in, regardless of your trials and tribulations, always remember... God is our hope!
You O Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. Ps. 18:28

I miss your writings!!! But I miss the writer more..
Haven't been here lately..
Seems like a lot of great things (both the ups and downs) are happening.
Anyways, thank you for sharing this with us.
It's very timely for me.. It ministered in my heart. :)
" It's amazing how we have time for God when we are desperate. what we don't realize is that we are desperate all the time and we just don't realize it" -J. Meyer True that! I tell God all the time that I need him to get through every minute of the day, because I do. I am not ashamed to say that I need God for the little things and the big things and everything in between. It is in Him that I (now) live , move and have my being! I heard somebody say that God is their medicine, and you want me to take my medicine! ( lol) I want to be toatally dependent on Him, and Him alone. Boy is he ever answering that desire... . - Perfectly Robin
