My son is an actor and he has placed some pretty nasty characters at times. There have been a few times I just wanted to get up on stage and smack that character. Why their mother... grrrrrrr! Wait a minute... I am their mother. Sigh... only a mother could love that character. LOL!
When my son performs, I have to go to at least several performances if I am going to be useful in knowing anything about the play. That's because when he is on stage, I only have eyes for him. Like any other mom, my eyes are fixed on my child. I watch his every move intently. I carefully listen to every word he says. If he has been off-stage for and suddenly enters, my attention is immediately torn away from the other actors and focused on him.
God is like that with us, you know. It doesn't matter how many masks we wear or how much make-up we have on. We can change the costumes, we can change our voice but He still sees past all of that and looks at the real you. When we are on this stage called Life, God intently watches our every move. He listens to everything we say. No matter how hard we try to cover up things with stage make-up, wigs and costumes, no matter how hard we try to hide behind a "character"; God sees us sees us for who we are.
You know what? He loves us anyway... that's what is so amazing to me. God sees us for who we are but still... He loves us and longs for us to die to ourselves so that we might be fully alive in Him!

Amen! We have an amazing God!
