While it may still be Friday, January the 4th in my neck of the woods in the center of North America, it is Saturday, January 5th in New Zealand and that means only one thing. It is Kiwibird's aka Kbird's birthday.
God has richly blessed me during my time here at CB and one of those blessings is that He saw fit to introduce me to my "twin" who lives in the southern hemisphere. With me in the northwest and Kbird in the southeast we joke about how we pretty much have the world covered.
God introduced us to one another as I was going through cancer treatment and she had just been diagnosed with a brain tumor. We would often say the same things in chat which caused our friends here to start thinking of us as "The Twins". That name eventually got changed to The Titanium Twins aka TT because Kbird got a titanium plate when she had brain surgery in 2008 and I got a titanium coil inserted into my brain in December 2009.
Though we are more than 8,000 miles apart and have never seen each other in the flesh, through the use of modern technology, God has allowed us to cross the miles and fellowship together like we were next door neighbors. In fact... last November she and her husband got to sing Happy Birthday to me along with my family and see my birthday cake try to go up in flames from all the candles, LOL!
One of the cool things about having a "twin" on the other side of the world is that she doesn't mind in the least if I call her at 2:00 a.m. in the morning needing to talk or have someone pray for me. This time of the year, it is only 9:00 p.m. in New Zealand when it is 2:00 a.m. in Minnesota. Of course, I have disturbed her sleep on occasion as she as disturbed mine but that's okay too because we're "twins".
Over the years that I have known her, we have laughed together, cried together, prayed together and just plain done life together. Oh yeah... and God often uses her to straighten me out when I need to be straightened out. She is one of those rare souls who can truly tell you the truth in love.
Though she might disagree with me, Kbird is truly a "prayer warrior princess" who has the faith of a child. Over the years, I have watched her declare what God will do and then... I've watched it happen.
Kbird, I am so very thankful that our paths have crossed and I want to let you know that you have truly been a blessing to me. Have a very blessed and wonderful birthday!
Happy Birthday to Sister Kiwibird and thanks for sharing about your sisterhood with her, Sister K
From Hwa Silverpen
My dear, dear, sister and beloved friend,
I could not count the number of times over the years in which we have 'bent each others ears' over concerns we have had, or prayed and rejoiced over because of the blessings we have experienced in Christ. The journey we have shared has had it's share of potholes and mountains but the journey has been a blessing because of the fellowship. It has been far more of a blessing because I have known that you have ALWAYS had my back.TT
