Earlier today a friend reminded me that God is never racing about trying to provide our needs. He does not have to wonder if He is able to cover us. We don't catch God by surprise... ever.
As I contemplated that, my heart was filled with that wonderful joy which is unspeakable meaning it can't be put into words. Joy! How I love that word! I am saddened whenever I hear Christians say they have no joy. You see, joy is a fruit of the Spirit. The joy of the Lord is our strength. If we are going to walk in victory, if we are going to let our light truly shine, if we are going to love one another, if we are going to be a testimony of the power of God in our lives, if we are going to be a victor over our circumstances rather than a victim, we must have joy.
"But you don't understand, I don't... " It doesn't matter what your circumstances are for joy is not dependent upon your circumstances or even what you feel like. Joy is dependent upon your relationship with God. For you see, we can be in the worst circumstances imaginable and still have the joy of the Lord.
If joy is missing in your life, you must bring that before Jesus, the Joy-Bringer now. You must not delay in doing so immediately!
We not only have life but we have abundant life in Christ. That is a reason to be joyful. We were lost but now we are found, our sins have been cast as far as from the east is from the west. This is a reason to be joyful. We are loved by God. Is there any thing more wonderful than that? God didn't give up on us but He loved us and sacrificed Himself that we might be saved. Not only that but His sacrifice is more than enough to cover ALL of our sins. Every last one of them. What a thing to rejoice over!
Praise God for His joy!
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 (NIV)
