A couple of days I wrote a blog entitled Cause I'm Worn which is based on Psalm 6:2-7. The story is not over however. Though David had been in the depths of despair for a long time, the tone of this psalm suddenly changes from one of defeat and despair to hope and victory:
Away from me, all you who do evil, for the Lord has heard my weeping.- Psalm 6:8-10 (NLT)
The Lord has heard my cry for mercy; the Lord accepts my prayer.
All my enemies will be overwhelmed with shame and anguish; they will turn back and suddenly be put to shame.
You are tired. You are worn. Fear and despair keep pounding at your door trying to break in or perhaps they have even managed to knock the door down and are standing in the room this very minute!
This song is for you:
You O Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. Psalm 18:28 (NIV)
I like the part.."Away with you!!" GREAT song!! Great blog- Thanks!
