Today is my birthday. Well... not my physical birthday. That is not until November. Nor is it my spiritual birthday. I was only seven and no one thought to take note of the actual date. Today is my CB birthday, however, for I joined CB on July 29, 2007. I am... three years old.
Over the past few weeks, I have been reflecting upon my journey here at CB. I must confess I had little idea what I was in for that day when I decided to become a member. To tell you the truth, I had no idea what I was in for! LOL!
Most of you were not here back then. If I am not mistaken, CB had been up and running for about a year and a half. John B. Abela (@abelajohnb) would know. I have a feeling if John would have known then what he knows now, he might have shown me to the door right then and there. On second thought, he still could so he must have decided that although I might be a bit strange, as Alan Nethery (@shadowalker) puts it, I am pretty much harmless. I am glad he has let me stay.
I have no idea how many members CB had back then. Many people have come and gone since that time but I am rejoicing that some of those people who were members back then are still at CB. John is still here of course and then there is Rob Henson (@greybear). John told me the other night that Greybear was the second person to join CB! John was the first  Then there is Shirley Hooper (@mumbly) (Mums) from New Zealand, Sandy Brooks (@poodlelady) (Poo), Lisa Stoughton (@everfaithful) (Effie) who joined exactly six months before me, Raynard Shellow (@iraqivetsgtret) (Vet), Linda Young (@savedbyegrace) (Gracie), Tl Sia (@doulos), @harkrider (who was PK back then) and Marsha Tyler Ronquist (@kraftykatz) (KK) who had joined CB just shortly before I did.
I joined CB about the time my son was getting ready to leave home. I liked what I saw and became a pledge member on August 4, 2007, less than a week after joining CB. I blogged a bit, commented some but let things slip as September rolled around and school began. I didn't come here much in October and November.
Then on December 3, 2007 my world was turned upside down when I learned a suspicious mass had been detected during a routine mammogram. Cancer! My life was shaken and it has never been the same since.
God pointed in the direction of CB and I fled here. I poured out my heart throughout treatment which was a lumpectomy, dose-dense chemo and radiation. I learned that due to the type of tumor I had, I was at high-risk for having a recurrence within the first two years. It has now been two years and six months since my surgery. As of June, 2010, there is still no evidence of disease. PRAISE GOD!
On December 10, 2009, an aneurysm ruptured in my brain and I also suffered a stroke...while I was asleep. Usually that means death. My CB family was right there praying for me around the world. I returned to work six weeks later and did so without any physical therapy. They said I didn't need it. Other than the rupture which they fixed by inserting a titanium coil, they could find no evidence of any permanent brain-damage and my neurosurgeon was astonished at how quickly the "clean-up" job was being done in my brain. I had one word for him when I "woke up" about a week later. God. He agreed
During my time at CB I have had many adventures. While I cannot go into all of them, suffice it to say things like swords and chocolate were involved. Oh, and I was the defendant in the only court case ever held (to my knowledge) here at CB. Hey, @cowgirldiva, was I ever acquitted of the charges that I caused an April blizzard in Denver or was I found guilty?
I have formed many precious friendships during my time at CB. Besides the people I have already mentioned there are people like Shani Matthews (@shanijane), Benjamin Foulks (@galahad), Joyce Bethy Ferguson (@bethy), Christopher Quek (@arisensleeper), @metamorphosis Jamie Degonia (@girlforgod), Esther Teuka (@lfjoito), Anna Jones (@annajones), Maria Abigail Guevarra (@purifymyheart), Erin Cochran (@throughfaith), Art Schnatterly (@aliveintheword), and many others too numerous to name who have truly been a blessing to me! I thank God for all of you.
Finally, I would like to make mention of a couple of people who have truly been a blessing2me. Over the past few years, when I am walking on dark paths stumbling and falling, get discouraged and feel like I cannot go on, and the enemy tries to tell me I am unlovable, these precious friends always have come running to my side to "dust me off" and help me raise my arms up to God. I try to do the same for them. How I thank God over the past few years, He has allowed me to do life with my friends Kirk M (@blessings2you), Beth M (@blest) and Alison Stewart (@kiwibird) as we all do life with God!
That's what CB is all about, I think. It is more than just a blogging site. It is a blogging community. It is a place to bless and be blessed. It is a place where Christians from around the world can do life with one another as we all do life with God!
Thank you, my friends, for doing life with me and allowing me to do life with you. You have truly been a blessing2me and I am looking forward to continuing this journey, not just here but in heaven! Though the past three years have not always been easy, I wouldn't take nothing for my journey now.

THANK YOU dear sister and friend for "hanging in there" through all your trials and tribulations and for remaining faithful to your calling which involves helping others facing horrible physical and mental anguish.
Three years is but a blip on the radar screen of eternity but in our little lifetimes it can sometimes seem like eternity. When all is going well and there is nary a negative worth mentioning in life, then three years is just three years. But, when a person goes through what you have gone through in such a short amount of time, I believe they have a story to tell that is worth listening to.
Thank you for being such a friend to not only Blest and me, but to so many here at CB! Thank you for all you have done and do to help with the oversight of the site and your high level of involvement in all aspects of CB. You are truly a pillar of this site.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
There is no journey of greater reward than the ones we take walking hand in hand with those who love the Lord with us. It has been a blessed time of travel indeed here at CB.
Wahoo! It's so fun to celebrate a milestone. :) Especially when there's... cake and chocolate involved!
Unfortunately... err I mean, fortunately, with the busy court system, the case and likewise the accused, has been been acquitted on all charges. Uff dah, that was a close one, ya?
There are times a thank you is not enough but all that can be said.
I say thank you in the fullness, depth, and width of the meaning for your friendship.
You are forever imprinted on my memories - a quiet place, few reside there.
Carry on Sister!
Dear K--I'm a day late and a dollar short in commenting on this, but happy birthday anyway. :birthday:
Dear sister, you have been a friend and an inspiration to me and many others you may never hear from at CB.
Keep telling your story, and don't change a thing or apologize. There are other cancer patients and survivors, and some with brain difficulties who will benefit.
I am pleased to know you as my friend. Be blessed. Ron
I apologise for the delay in commenting on your blog. I plead computer 'issues' which have made my visits extrememly irregular and usually quite short!
The journey you have taken over the past three years has been one of highs and lows, joys and sorrows. I praise God that above all else, your journey has been with his guidance and support, with his wisdom and strength. I praise God for your testimony and your sense of humour. As we have walked and sometimes crawled our journeys together it has been amazing to see the hand of God at work in our lives. I praise God that you have shared my journey with me and I thank you most sincerely for allowing me to share your journey with you.
Sure am glad for the identity monitor option. This is the first blog I have read upon my return home after a little over 2 weeks. I missed everyone and would like to think you all missed me too.
Indeed I did! I was in chat the other day and someone was asking about you. They hadn't seen you around and hoped you were doing okay. I was happy to be able to tell them that you were on a mission trip and I hope we will hear about it soon!
Blessings and welcome back!
