In Him Alone

I love the song, "In Christ Alone" by Keith and Kristyn Getty. When I was going through chemo, I would sometimes slip downstairs painfully, sit down at the piano and sing:

In Christ alone my hope is found; He is my light, my strength, my song; This cornerstone, this solid ground, Firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, When fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My comforter, my all in all Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone, Who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save.
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied;
For ev'ry sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain;
Then bursting forth in glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the pow'r of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand.

I would remember that Christ is my hope, my light, my strength, my song, the cornerstone and the solid ground. Indeed, He is the only things which is solid!

I was facing the fiercest storm I'd ever faced; fighting for my life and yet, as my little boat rode through the giant crashing waves, I knew... I knew that I was not alone in the boat. From beginning to the end, God is with me and Jesus truly does command my destiny. As my captain, He will steer my little boat safely home. Nothing, oh nothing, can pluck me from His hand!

Blessings!

And of course the music of the Getty's is so good because they come from Northern Ireland

Did you know that some churches have taken the line "The wrath of God was satisfied" and changed it because they will not accept that it was wrath that was poured out on the cross. They have substituted the word Wrath for the word Love . How foolish is that.

I love how you take what was not good and turn it for His Glory.

Great words, and song. Praying my life is hid, through His works. He deserves our all. 'Help my unbelief', as that man said. Thanks for sharing. God Bless.
