Let His Little Child Come In

Jesus loves me! He who died heaven's gate to open wide; He will wash away my sin, let His little child come in. --Anna B. Warner
How vividly I remember that Sunday morning when I knelt down and simply told Jesus I was sorry and asked Him to forgive me. What horrible crimes had a seven year old child committed? I didn't think about that. There had been no altar call. There were just some people praying for some parents who sent their children to church but did not know Christ. Sunday School had not even begun. I only know there was this overwhelming feeling that Jesus loved me and was calling me to come. Can a child understand? Let me ask you this. Can an adult understand? I only know that when He called and said "Follow me." my heart went leaping after Him!

I didn't have to understand. I didn't need to wait until I was a "grown-up". I didn't need to wait until I had graduated from Bible college, gone to seminary or read 57 volumes arguing theology. I only needed to respond when I heard His voice and I did. He took care of the rest.

You see, it is not as hard as we often make it to be. Even a child can enter in.

Speaks volumes on a subject many have different views on. My personal one is, if a child wants to pray and accept Jesus, let them, and help them. Matt. 19:13,14. 2 Tim. 3:15

Some of the pressure and scare tactics a few evangelists use I do not agree with though, but realize people have different views on that. If one is truly born again at any age, who are we to judge?

Good subject, great blog. YBIC, Billy
